Dear Mr Hicks

This is an excellent short film that was part of a campaign to oust Mr Hicks & Mr Gillette from Liverpool FC. The mission was successfully accomplished in October 2010 and the club is now at the start of the road in the right direction under the stewardship of Fenway Sports Group who own amongst other sports teams Boston Red Sox.

The film was made mainly in Liverpool and features celebrity fans, ex players and everyday fans all giving Mr Hicks the same message which is to Get out of our club.

Liverpool fans are passionate supporters with a deep respect and knowledge of our football club. removing Mr Hicks from our club was a traumatic experience but the light can now be seen at the end of the tunnel

This film represents the struggle, that the Liverpool supporters went through to try and remove the parasitic owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett from Liverpool F.C. They promised no debt to be added to the club, they saddled us with the purchase cost of the club and an extra £100 million they loaned for transfers, £400 million in total. They asset stripped the team to maintain control, they tied the managers hands in the transfer market once the £100 million had been spent (mostly on loan repayments), they promised us a new stadium and never delivered. They lied, lied, lied. Our performances on the pitch started to suffer as we slipped out of the top 4 of the league. We still feel the negativity of Hicks and Gillett at the club as we are battling to stay clear of the relegation zone.

Until Mike Jefferies took the time out of his busy schedule to raise awareness to the clubs plight with this film, we weren't getting the publicity we needed. He put a call out to famous Liverpool fans, ex players, and us regular LFC fans and the call was answered, the result is this film and our problems were blown wide open to the world.

This film added pressure to the owners and helped Royal Bank of Scotland force the sale of the club to go through to the new owners New England Sport Ventures. Although we have residual problems from the Hicks and Gillett era we are debt free and under far better stewardship.

This film is a time capsule which documents just how the fans felt at our lowest point in this ownership farce, and as such is as much a part of our clubs history as any trophy.

This excellent movie will go down in history as playing a very important part in ousting the hated owners of Liverpool FC Tom Hicks & George Gillett.

In his movie Mike Jefferies used a cast of Liverpool supporters from all walks of life to deliver a very strong message that Tom Hicks was not welcome in Liverpool. Showing their love for the club the supporters explain why they wanted Tom Ticks out.

A few days after the movie was released, Tom Hicks and George Gillett were forced to sell the club in a drama that unfolded in the British High Court. The club is now owned by New England Sports Ventures.
