Shackled

I literally suffered through 40 minutes of this dread fest and had to stop. The acting was absolutely horrible from the moment it started with her yelling the way she was.

The premise of this movie sounded pretty watchable but unbelievable so I decided to give it a try and boy was that a mistake.

It's low budget with one or two familiar faces from some other low budget films I've seen. Don't expect academy award winning acting.

Should you decide to torture yourself through this one, good luck. Hopefully you can finish the movie unlike me. I am a stickler for finishing what I start and I've made it through some really really horrible ones, but I just couldn't rough this through.

I don't even know what I just watched. Throughout the entire film the acting was bad, the story was choppy, there was no action at ALL, just her in the truck trying to break free. That's it. Don't waste your time with this one people. I was bored to tears. I wish I would have waited until more reviews came out about this film, so by writing this I'm trying to save you all 87 minutes of your time and I recommend watching literally anything else. In the trailer it says it got all these independent film awards. Don't be fooled. Movies this bad have to put that in to get people to watch it. The ending also sucked, trying to show a twist when it just angers the audience. Rule #1 of filmmaking is don't piss off the audience you're trying to impress!

At first, I was confused as to how certain things were happening, but if you watch 'til the end it all makes sense. I liked how it felt like a mix of SAW and a real-life escape room with supernatural elements. I don't know what some of these reviews expected from an indie movie with a small budget or if they get paid per 1 star review, because the production value for what it was still provided quality. Good sound and an interesting storyline that steps away from the expected. This is not a MARVEL movie that is trying to keep you entertained with banter, theatrics, and explosions. This is a slow dissent into madness of someone suffering from more than what is initially seen on the surface.

This is the first review I've ever written because this is the worst movie I've ever saw. If there was anything else you would rather NOT do, you'd be better off doing that then watching this. I hope whoever scripted this has to wait an hour for every Dr. Appointment, every dinner reservation, every fast food order, every dental appointment and every red stop light for the rest of their life. I hope they live to be 140 and physically decrepit but in good health so that they outlive everyone that they've ever known and loved. I pray that whoever talks to them never gets to the point so that every conversation is a useless waste of time filled with ramblings and awkward bird noises. Maybe after living like this for a century they'll be able to come up of with a better plot but thank God I wont be around to watch it.

I enjoy indie films immensely, so watching this I didn't know what to expect. You really have to pay attention to every scene because it all adds up to something really unique at the end.

Very few films can pull off the single location concept, and this was definitely a good use of it. Monique did a fantastic job bringing Aamal to life and making us sympathize. You can tell she put a lot into the performance, and it shows.

I enjoyed the music and build up. The disjointed quality of it seemed out of place at first but again it all adds up to why, and I didn't see it coming. I read that they filmed in the high desert during hundred degree days, so good on them all for committing to this in full. Definitely worth your time, so check it out!
