There was some potential for something better here, but it wasn't awful. A low budget/street clothes affair with one dimensional sound design hold it back, as the muddled story pieces had me scratching my head, wondering when it was going to fit together to say something profound. Unfortunately, it never really does, but the track score and a few interesting scenes kept me in the seat long enough to see it through. OK for a low budget execution, however, it was a somewhat unsatisfying conclusion that leaves a plot hole or three that just didn't amount to much other than playing out the obvious.
The movie gets a 3/10 only because of the premise which I like and the acting of Veronica, that's all it gets. There's many issues with this movie, and I'll cut it some slack as you know the budget wasn't great for this, however, this doesn't mean I'll disregard every problem that it has.
My worst complaint here is the audio mixing, it's terrible! I haven't seen a movie with such bad audio in a lot of time. 90s movies had better audio balancing than this! A character could speak from anywhere from the camera and they would be heard the same, be it next to it or far away, it all sounds the same.
The pacing was also a nightmare. I consider myself a patient person and even I had to skip through minutes of nothing throughout the movie. There's a chance that skipping 15 minutes ahead won't make you miss anything, and this doesn't mean anything good with any movie, even more so when the runtime is on the shorter side for this decade.
Overall, a disappointment with a lot more downs than ups, 3/10, would not recommend.

The thing these days seems to be slow-burning, character-driven plot lines. Certainly have that here as the two main actresses engage throughout. Nice photography, hits all the marks of horror. Predictable in parts but when you're going with a classic structure, that's just going to happen. Those moments came with a nice pay-off. Reality v. Nightmare situations keep you guessing.
This is a psychological thriller with strong female leads. Using a low budget and limited locations, the filmmakers made the most of it all with the photography. The film has a palpable feel that its creators love and respect the genre and the cast was having a great time.

Warning, do not fast forward any part of this, you might miss something that explains what is going on and you will be forced to rewind it and watch it again.
Veronica Grey (Morgan Boss-Maltais) did play this part well, however, with the pace of the movie a little slow and the runtime too long for this story, I lost interest in the plot and the story itself became a "what" "huh" moment, more than once.
Mrs Bloom (Carla Kidd) play off against Miss Grey well, sometimes and other times her presence was like the "what" "huh" moments I mentioned above.
Joe (Adonis Ringo) brought nothing but "huh" moments to the story, he did this rather well. Perhaps he was only included because his name was Adonis.
I realised that while writing this, I dropped the rating down to 3 "what" says something about the movie. I'm hoping that Morgan Boss-Maltais gets some better roles. Would I recommend this? Nope.

Non spoiler review:
First thank you Harrow House. It appears to be a horror movie that has a very tight
budget. So I was intrigued from the beginning to the end. If you expect the highest
presentation this movie ain't it.
I love human behavior. I love to study people. Why would this girl/woman who appeared to be intelligent go with a complete stranger to a house 3 hours away?
She was not the least prepared to work with a dementia patient. The job paid a lot so why would they hire someone who was unsure of her ability to do the work?
There are many questions that need to be answered to make this cohesive. They have been covered in the comment section. The charming home had a "Weird" Vibe as did the old woman and Charles. The music added to the intrigue and I really wanted to know what they were up to?
I would recommend this movie to those who can look past the lower end of the spectrum films. I appreciate that not all films are Oscar bound I couldn't wait until the ending came so that I could determine what was going on. It was worth the wait, but this movie isn't for everyone. To me it wasn't as much a horror film, but a suspenseful one.
