Once Upon a Time in Queens

Paul Sorvino is incredible. The other actors are good but frankly not as good as Paul Sorvino. Nonetheless. It's such a beautifully distinct and unusual story. I highly recommend it. I'm a native New Yorker though from Manhattan and not Queens. Still. The characters and situational stuff really resonated with me. Beautifully executed. I've always been a fan of Michael Rappaport. He's seriously underrated. I think of him in Beautiful Girls and Friends and now this. I want to see him in more things! Why does IMDB require such long reviews? I'm done but it won't let me submit. Blah blah blah blah.

Loved the story and the continuity and reliving this amazing turn of events.

Too bad the audio mix was such a mess. All over the place. Had to rewind too often to find out what someone said. Improper audio ducking. The Everybody Wants to Rule the World part was a mush of music and dialogue. 16 people credited with audio mixing. Wow.

Let me do it next time, Jimmy. Or let me remix it. I could do it better with one assistant.

I was 6 years old during the 1986 World Series and I vividly remember watching every second of it with my parents and sister. My family was rooting for the Red Sox to win (we lived near Seattle and were just American League fans I guess) so we were disappointed with the result, but it was a very entertaining series that we knew would be talked about for a long time. This show did a great job showing the behind the scenes of the craziness of the talented New York Mets. While they were able to come out on top in 1986 thanks to a valiant comeback against the Boston Red Sox, drug addiction and other problems stopped the franchise from being able to do it again. Very entertaining story to watch and I highly recommend it.
