The Script was terrible; But, i could tolerate it. On the other hand the Choreography was the worst. Carlton Banks can dance better than the lead character. Just horrible. If you want to watch ANY stomp the yard, just keep the original on repeat.
Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming
All ethnicities enjoy dance in their own way. Latin Americans like to tango, Indians like to Bhangra, while Caucasians like to watch dance themed television shows.
As for African Americans, according to this sequel, they like to dance in-between their university classes.
When new Theta Nus pledge Chance (Collins Pennie) is pegged as the top stepper in his fraternity's crew, the pressure is on him to win the upcoming national step-off competition.
Making matters worse is the fact that his father (Keith David) and the leader of a rival dance crew (Twitch) are both hoping that Chance chokes.
A left footed attempt at establishing a dance franchise, Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming lacks the script, the stars, and the choreography needed to exceed the original Stomp the Yard.
Besides, due to the increase in campus violence, it's hard to tell if students in the quad are dancing or dodging bullets. (Red Light)

My god 16:44 in and I'm wondering why...why am I watching this? I'm bored and nothing else is on and this is on HBO Max? What the heck.....
How do movies like this even get made ? It's like a poor man's BET Special .
Joke of a movie. Stay Away!
The dialogue is just horrible . The way it's shot is trash . The dancing ... I've seen better dancing at dive bars at 3am. I really just do not get Hollywood at times also who the heck casted these people ? When you have a bad movie with bad scripting you would expect ok maybe the actors are gonna be good. Here... nope! Maybe just stick with the first one .

I can't believe that I am the first one here to review this tittle.Fist of all I expected much more from this movie.First part was really great but this one is boring.Plot is melodramatic and clichéd,story is very predictable. But this is a dance movie and these things are not so important for this type of movie...what is really important is dancing and dancing here is lame, uninteresting. You won't see some crazy moves,if you want to see something like that then watch Step Up 3D.Acting here is average, whole atmosphere in this movie is really dark ,there isn't any fun.And what to say about soundtrack ...It has some really cool songs but this movie needs more than few cool songs.I am little disappointed but if you liked Stomp the Yard then Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming is not as bad as rating says.Just watch it...
I loved the original Stomp the Yard, even though I disagreed with a few things in it.
I hated this movie so much that I walked out of it (even if walking out only meant leaving the living room) partway through.
WHY take a movie about stepping and turn it into a movie about senseless violence??? Plus, this movie doesn't have the eye-candy characters as did the first one.
The movie should have been light-hearted and shown more STEPPING. I'm super frustrated that so many movies about one thing just HAVE to throw in a bunch of violence.
On top of that, the main character does not draw you in. I do not feel any sympathy for him at all, as he his predicaments are all due to his own actions and choices.
The best thing about the movie was seeing tWitch, as I am a huge So You Think You Can Dance fan.

- WissenswertesIt was erroneously reported that Terry Crews would have a role in the film. According to Crews, he only visited a friend on the set one day and was never cast in the film.
- PatzerMu gamma psi misspells psi in their finals performance. "M-U-G-A-M-M-A-S-I" The Greek letter psi is spelled P-S-I.
