A Christmas in New Hope

I liked this movie! Had a specific and genuine take on a genre that's full of familiar tropes. The mom character has a core that's very relatable and warm. I was always a fan of Katrina Bowden in her hilarious 30 Rock supporting role, so it was nice to see her take on a more well rounded character. All the performances are strong, but Mia Armstrong - in addition to being the first time I've seen a character with Down Syndrome in a Christmas movie - was especially adorable. The music was also good. It films sometimes it's hard to believe that the musician character is actual a performer or composer, but Ryan Cooper has a great voice and I was with it. Cute movie. Definitely recommend!

FINALLY! Took me a little longer but finally saw it on roku's website & here's my *toned down* review lol: OMG I LOOOOOOOOOVE IT!!!!!!! Was that enough? Hehe originally found this through David & quickly fell in love with everyone/everything in it! I'm a HUGE Christmas fan but it touched me alot 'cause it was a single mom raising a kid with a disability like I grew up. My bestie & I are so Jill & Sonia's personalities and I love how bright & happy Mia is as Charlie, you rocked it girl!! Can't wait to see you in many more! I can't pick a fave part but the big country dance was soo fun! I love all the Christmas decorations & fun and the whole thing was awesome! The romance between Victoria/Gavin was BEAUTIFUL! Can we live in it forever? Thanks for an amazing movie!

This is another Christmas film from Nicely a production company that makes lesser movies like Reel One and Great American Family. The scripts, casting and acting aren't up to the quality of Hallmark, Netflix and Lifetime films. The plot has some interesting elements, but it doesn't make sense that Vicky the lead wouldn't work and she let the house fall into foreclosure. Then she all of a sudden has money for remodeling which is expensive. Drama involves some suspension of reality, but this movies just doesn't make sense. With a decent script and a good director this could have been a much better film.

A Christmas in New Hope has absolutely everything that makes a Christmas movie magic, from great music to beautiful decorations that make you feel like you're walking the streets of New Hope, and most of all, a truly beautiful story that is sure to warm anyone's heart. You'll laugh, you'll cry (happy tears, of course), you'll sing along, and you will be filled with the spirit of Christmas. Actress Mia Armstrong is an inspiration and a masterpiece. You don't have to love someone who has Down syndrome to love and cherish this movie, but if you do, that makes it even more special. Watch it today!
