Seriously,
The idea of pretending it's one day and not letting them change is such a strange concept.
Even after they mentioned at one point " that's the end of day one" they still came back in the same clothes.

I like it BUT WHY are the people wearing the exact same outfit for every episode it makes no sense. It feels fake. So they not go home and get ready for the next day. Confusing!
It's a baking show, what do you expect? It's fun and the fact that the success depends on 2 people adds a different element. Thoroughly enjoyed! One question though, they are wearing the same clothes the whole time... no way that it's filmed back to back, they would all be delusional. What gives?? Haha.
If you don't like baking shows you won't like this one either. Personally i liked it. Kind of like nailed it but not quite. The contestants had to know what they were doing on this kind of show. I liked the fact that all the contestants cheered each other on. Fun light show to watch.
I absolutely LOVED this show, and I am sad that there appears to be no news on a Season 2. I hate the fact that I never saw any advertisements for it or knew it existed until about two or three weeks ago, long after the first season had aired. We're not big television watchers, but I do love baking shows, have a decent social media presence and we don't exactly keep our heads in the sand in terms of news, so how could I have not known this show existed (and what ELSE am I missing)? Executives need to do better at promoting new series/shows!
The premise, as other reviewers have already covered, is that teams consisting of one baker and one engineer are given the opportunity to build something according to specifications put forth by the "TEST" they must "pass". The first and foremost, and non-changing specification, is that the resulting build must be EDIBLE, and of course, electronically (or otherwise) viable, motile and/or usable.
The resulting creations range from hilarious to excellent. They also fail more times than may be expected, which had me in stitches!!!
If there is one thing I did not like, it was the inclusion of the food judge they chose. She seemed to have the exact same comment for everyone and it was almost as if she HAD to find fault with whatever she tasted. Not only that, but she just seemed to lack the charisma necessary to be a television 'personality'. The Bakineer judge, on the other hand, was great; as was (to a slightly lesser degree), the Engineering judge.
In regard to the contestants wearing the same outfits (which other reviewers seem to be bothered by) all I can say is: SO? In fact, it had not even crossed my mind as a 'big deal', until I read the reviews here. *I* simply _assumed_ that **everyone** would ASSUME (and remember) that there is such a thing called LAUNDRY. If it were costumes or uniforms they wore, hardly any eyebrows would be raised, so why are people assuming (yes, that word again) that they were wearing DIRTY clothes?
Lastly, in terms of "wasted food" - how do people know this food was not ultimately donated? OR, what difference does it make if a "game show" or other show of this nature uses its resources in money, art direction, production, set decor, prizes, etc., or FOOD? Does it being edible raw material change the fact that any and ALL shows which people enjoy are using THEIR resources?
Again, I found it HILARIOUS, well-meaning, instructive (in that all engineers are NOT created equal 😂😂😂); highly entertaining and addictive.
I HOPE it returns for a second season or that a network picks it up, especially because most shows of this nature are always tweaked from one season to the next until they find their 'groove'. This one started off amazingly well, so once re-engineered, it can't help but be fabulous!
