There are two different versions of this documentary. The first premiered on October 23, 2020 and clocks in just under 33 minutes. The second came out in the summer of 2021 around the same time as the third Conjuring movie and is 72 seconds longer than the previous version. It's mostly the same for the first 30 minutes with only a few slight visual alterations from the original release. Here's what the extended 34-minute cut does differently:
- 1 minute & 10 seconds in, footage of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga on the set of Conjuring 3 - Im Bann des Teufels (2021) replaces a behind-the-scenes clip from The Nun (2018) for about 3 or 4 seconds.
- 30 minutes & 8 seconds in, the vertical framing around Peter Safran is adjusted to give more head room in the shot, but shows less below the neck. This cropping change appears a few more times throughout.
- 30 minutes & 17 seconds in, the fade to black is delayed by 1 second.
- These last few minutes are dedicated to the third Conjuring movie, and while most of the audio from the cast and crew is the same between both versions, the original behind-the-scenes footage used is replaced with clips from Conjuring 3 - Im Bann des Teufels (2021).
- All segments with Arne Cheyenne Johnson were replaced with his wife Debbie Glatzel talking instead. In both cuts, Arne is given a Special Thanks in the closing credits while Debbie's name is absent.
- When Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are discussing the real life Arne Johnson trial, different newspaper clippings are shown on screen.
- The line "It just requires you to bring your A+ game" is missing when Vera Farmiga is talking about making sequels.
- After Peter Safran's closing line, another Conjuring clip plays followed by a release date title card before the end credits start-up.
- A few more names of crew members are listed in the closing credits. Austin Goggins was previously credited as Assistant Editor, but is now listed as Finishing Editor.
- Last shot is a title card listing every Conjuring Universe movie up to this point, captioned with "Now Available on Blu-ray and Digital." This replaces a "Coming Soon" title card for Conjuring 3 - Im Bann des Teufels (2021).
