Kamen Rider Decade

I had a fun time watching the show and it's nice to see some riders from previous show in this season. I think the acting is good, the story is good, writing is good and I like most characters. My main problem like Ryuki is the ending, I hate the fact that I need to watch a special to conclude the story but the story overall isn't bad to be honest. I enjoyed Decade for the most part and I recommend it.

I'm confused by people who answered that this series is a series with a good story, good plot, good characters, etc.

For good characters, I agree, Tsukasa Kadoya's character is a character that has good character development, and this is the only good thing about this series.

I think Kamen Rider Ghost is much better than this.

This is a show which shoots itself in the foot with its own gimmick. Which is maybe a bit strained etymologically, but trust me on this.

As the title suggests, Kamen Rider Decade celebrates ten years of modern Kamen Rider, with a plot which sees its protagonists switching from world to world, experiencing the different universes and opponents (and, of course, the Riders and their powers!) from Kiva, Ryuki, Den-O et cetera.

Unfortunately, it comes up severely lacking, especially when compared with last year's offering, Kamen Rider Kiva.

If you love tokusatsu shows, there's guaranteed to be something in here to entertain you, what with the diverse assortment of Riders and monsters, but the world-switching is horribly badly done, and the swift succession of different plots and casts of characters makes it difficult to care too much about any of them.

The central characters who travel between worlds also suffer somewhat from this, as the constant need to introduce and explain every new world (each with its Riders and villains and regular humans) reduces their scope for development significantly. Although I confess I'm rather smitten by female lead Mori Kanna as "Natsumikan" - she's cute, she's funny, and she has some great outfits! This is basically a show for Kamen Rider fanatics, who want to see "which rider would win if..." or "which monster is more badass?". And it's very much a kids' show, whereas Kiva provided enough story and character alongside the comedy and fights to generate more of a family feel. So while this show IS fun, there's really nothing more to it.

I actually wanted to comment on Kamen Rider Kiva (a superb series which I was utterly addicted to for the whole of 2008!) but it doesn't seem to be listed on IMDb... however, if you get the chance, watch Kiva rather than Decade!

UPDATE: Well, the series finished... and even though the storyline is left hangin until the theatrical movie release, I have to admit that the last story-arc was more compelling and that the action and character development did in fact both improve.

However, having by now seen two episodes of the new KR show, Kamen Rider Double (or Kamen Rider W), I'm still forced to say that in my opinion, Decade is a bit weak. So... watch Kiva or Double instead! Sorry to the fans who rated me un-useful, it's just how I feel.

Despite being the shortest Heisei Riders show, it's full of nostalgic elements. This Kamen Rider doesn't have his own proper world; instead of saving people in his own world, he travels to other Riders' worlds and tries to save them in order to prevent their extinction. When I first watched this show, I couldn't stop-I was always curious to see what the next Rider world would be and what new cards he would get. It's a high-quality Rider show with good special effects and suits. The battles are action-packed with plenty of transformations, and Decade always uses his cards to defeat his rivals, he is full of surprises!

However, one of the downsides for me is that they recreated the Riders' worlds, and they have little to do with the originals. It's like an alternate story for each of the Heisei phase 1 Riders with different actors. Some of the Riders are depicted in a disappointing way, and his friend Yusuke feels like a missed opportunity. There are also weird and annoying jokes, like the pressure point thumb, which at times makes one of the characters rather annoying.

Make sure you watch the two movies that complete Decade's story. One explores more about his origin, while the other concludes his story, as the final episode ends on a cliffhanger.

Only crazy people think Kamen rider Decade series is good? Since when is Decade series the best? I call it trash,Doesn't deserve a higher rating than Zi-O anniversary rider which is pretty good given a lower rating than Decade, it's not funny at all Decade fans are really sick and stressed, Decade only wins in terms of actors and costumes for the story is really bad. Yes, it's strange, Zi-O should have a higher rating than Decade, why did it have to be Decade, trash that has a high rating but the story is so bad and trashy, just like Decade fans who are too... Fanatical and excessive ,no decade.
