Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story

This year, I had the unfortunate experience of watching one of the most disappointing films I have encountered. It was a movie that seemed to have been made without any regard for quality or audience satisfaction. From the very beginning, it was clear that the film was destined to fall short of expectations, and it did so in spectacular fashion.

One of the most glaring issues with the movie was the casting of the lead actors. It seemed as though they had been chosen without any auditions whatsoever. The lack of effort in selecting the right talent for the roles was evident in their performances, which were atrocious even by the standards of debut actors. It was as if they were reading directly from the script, devoid of any emotion or depth. Their acting was so poor that it was difficult to watch, and it left a lasting impression of incompetence.

Adding to the film's woes was the decision not to dub the voice of the female lead. This choice was baffling and inexplicable. Her voice was so grating and unsuitable for the role that it made the movie even more unbearable to watch. It was as if the filmmakers were intentionally trying to alienate the audience by making the listening experience as unpleasant as possible. The lack of dubbing was a glaring oversight that could have easily been remedied, yet it was left unaddressed, further detracting from the overall quality of the film.

The music in the movie was another area where it failed miserably. The soundtrack was uninspired and failed to enhance the narrative or evoke any emotional response from the audience. Instead of complementing the scenes, the music seemed to clash with them, creating a jarring and disjointed experience. It was as if the composers had not taken the time to understand the tone or mood of the film, resulting in a score that was out of place and ineffective.

The writing of the movie was equally disastrous. The script was poorly constructed, with a lack of coherence and consistency. The dialogue was clichéd and lacked originality, making it difficult for the actors to deliver it convincingly. The plot was predictable and lacked any surprises or twists, which made it tedious and unengaging. The characters were underdeveloped and lacked depth, making it hard for the audience to connect with them or care about their fate.

The direction of the film was another significant flaw. The director seemed to have no vision or direction for the project, resulting in a movie that was visually unappealing and poorly executed. The pacing was off, with scenes dragging on unnecessarily and others feeling rushed and incomplete. The use of camera angles and lighting was ineffective, failing to create the desired atmosphere or mood. The overall direction was lacklustre, and it was clear that the director had not taken the time to plan or execute the film with any care or attention to detail.

In conclusion, this movie was a complete disaster from start to finish. It was a film that failed on every level, from the acting and voice dubbing to the music, writing, and direction. It was a waste of time and money, and it left a lasting impression of incompetence and lack of effort. It is a film that I would not recommend to anyone, and it is one that I hope to forget as quickly as possible. Watching it was a painful experience, and it is a reminder of the importance of quality and effort in filmmaking. If filmmakers do not take the time to create a well-crafted and engaging film, they risk alienating their audience and creating a product that is both disappointing and forgettable.

There is a dearth of cute romantic stories on Indian screens in general, so when I found a Gen Z love story, I hopped on. With Kunal Kohli's name attached to it and his filmography, this seemed like a sure-shot option.

Two young individuals, Bobby and Rishi, meet unexpectedly and spend some time together, only to feel an inclination toward each other. However, they go their own way, leaving it to destiny to decide if they meet again. Destiny brings them together once more, only for them to fall for each other.

A "seen that, done that" storyline, offering nothing new to munch on. Hence, you keep craving more as the narrative progresses. The whole falling-in-love arc doesn't really connect with you, as there are no scenes that truly establish it. Even the entire reunion and rekindling are fast-paced and overly cinematic, making it difficult to connect with the narrative.

Vardhan Puri has charm and shines bright even when the script goes down a dark alley. Kaveri Kapur, a byproduct of nepotism, needs to learn acting and brings the movie further down. There is hardly any chemistry between them.

You would wonder if this is directed by Kunal Kohli, as it feels like such an amateur attempt. What works best are the picturesque locations of Cambridge, which make the whole movie look absolutely beautiful. The songs are equally good, and you'll find yourself humming along. The remake of Lamborghini into Tappe is interesting, and the choreography of every song is well done. However, the climax is just madness, making no sense.

It had such good potential to be a breezy movie for a light watch but ended up being a below-average affair. Running for just 90-odd minutes, you can watch it if you don't have anything better to do.
