Bree Mills' "Pure Taboo" series exploits a variety of so-called taboo subjects, so I guess taking an XXX peek at the ongoing pandemic qualifies. But Bree delivers a half-baked, insipid reaction, of little interest either to porn hounds or more serious viewers.
The two episodes (out of four total) issued on this DVD consist of a dumb hardcore story of Scarlit Scandal tiring of caring for her mate (he's never shown, just heard coughing on the soundtrack behind closed doors) month after month, and having spontaneous sex with the handsome (under his mask) mail man Jake Adams. It has an ambiguous but downbeat ending, making the vignette a real downer. Director Bree presumably calibrated her reaction to the crisis as a reflection of hopelessness and weariness, the opposite of what any viewer needs.
Michael Vegas starred in and co-directed (with Bree and alt-porn actress Siouxsie Q) the second episode, which dwells dully with the day-to-day boring grind of maintaining strict hygiene and self-quarantining that so many of us suffered through last spring and summer. It ends up being a shaggy-dog story of his unsatisfying relationship with the non-human hologram "A. I." program portrayed by Ana Foxxx, presented with an unsatisfying non-ending as well as turning out to be no-sex -not even delivering even a moment of nudity or softcore titillation for the fans/subscribers to Bree's Adult Time service.
This type of underwhelming, mediocre "storytelling" (or lack thereof) in Adult Cinema merely reinforces the argument by forces in the industry promoting the superiority of mindless, gonzo content, and hastening the total demise of eroticism in this benighted segment of entertainment.
