A Couple of Cuckoos

I'll get right to the point: A Couple of Cuckoos is a rom-com with a harem tag. This anime isn't original or feel particularly different from other animes, but that doesn't mean it's a terrible one; I'm just bringing it up for readers who might have been hoping for something different.

Nagi Umino, the male main character, isn't the loser/virgin kind that you typically see in those kinds of animes; instead, he resembles characters like Hachiman in Oregairu and Fuutarou in Gotoubun. He is frank and won't hold back when speaking his thoughts, which occasionally lends the show more credibility.

Everything feels coherent about this program, except for the opening scene where the baby switches things at birth. Of course, achieving such a feat doesn't seem difficult in a slice of life environment, but I'm trying to emphasize it because it's executed better than in other rom-coms. (Mostly, I'm thinking of the character profiles; each one makes sense, and the manga/show honors the characteristics assigned to the characters as the plot progresses.)

There is brocon in this show. To clarify, note that there are no sexually suggestive scenes in the show (which, incidentally, doesn't have a lot of fanservice), and there's always the standard justification that the siblings aren't related by blood. Still, I'm classifying this as a con because some viewers will find the show offensive for this reason alone.

Although that's a bit of a double-edged standard, I don't think the plot moves forward at a particularly good speed. You will like every episode and be happy that there are 24 of them if you like the characters and the overall feel of the program. However, if you are hoping for some rapid character development, plot twists, and other things, you will be quite disappointed with or bored with the show.

Overall, I would suggest A Couple of Cuckoos to anyone who appreciates romantic comedies. The show really has a cast that is fairly intriguing, and the character dynamics feel cohesive, which makes the tale easy to follow and makes you fall deeply in love with your favorite character or characters. The primary issue with the show is its rhythm and duration; in my opinion, there may not be enough action in 24 episodes, therefore you should not bother watching it if you're looking for an anime with a strong narrative. In addition, there is some brocon in this show-nothing too offensive, but it's never a good idea to see that kind of thing.

I waited the whole time for this anime , I liked it so much and their character too. But there are some thing that i don't liked in the new season . I liked the previous season's animation . They just changed the character's personality and appearance. I waited the whole time for the second season and I got disappointed by their new animation graphics. They change hiro-san's hairstyle, she looked cute with her old hairstyle. They changed character's way of speak . Its look liked they are goingto end this anime with it's second.

If its possible please release the second season again with the old animation that used in season first.

The plot of two people being switched at birth was amazing and I love how every character had their own development in their own unique way.

Personally, I think Nagi was thrown around a bit too much but other than that, it was great It wasn't like your typical harem which I was really getting bored of. I was actually thinking of quitting harem anime until I watched this.

Normally I would rate it 10/10 but I still feel it was missing something. I really hope they raise the bar in season 2 but I couldn't wait so I've already began to read the manga lol but all in all, it was masterpiece of an anime.

I like how the witty dialogue and fast moving story never gets boring. The characters experience surprises, dumb mistakes, and awkward moments certain to make you smile.

The adolescent characters are already struggling to figure out who they are, so learning they aren't even related to their families makes them more confused. Watching them react and change adds a nice subtext to the surface comedy. I would have liked a bit more emotional depth, but this is primarily a comedy, so just sit back and laugh.

The attractive, crisp, modern animation is similar to "My Dress Up Darling". Also, there is plenty of "fan service" (Hollywood calls it "T & A"}, but the sexual humor here is restrained and unlikely to offend anyone.

I recommend this romantic comedy.

First, if I was handed a boy to take home instead of the GIRL I just gave birth to, I think I would notice.

Second, the whole main contrivance of this anime is, though not technically incestual, emotionally and psychologically, absolutely is.

Third, all the little sub-plots are unnecessarily complicated. They are meant for laughs -- people hiding the fact that they don't know each other or live together sort of thing -- but they come off as very amateurish.

Fourth, has ALL the same characters you have ever seen in anime.

As far as I can tell, the manga is still going. I thought I would finish this season and be done with it, but I guess not. I won't be back for season 2.
