The thing which kills Unverified before it can even really get going is not the lack of budget, or even the quality of the actors, but the pacing.
The film, which we will be generous enough to refer it to as, opens with a long spell of a realtor driving to a house. But wait! There is a gate in the driveway. We see her get out of her car, open the gate. Get back in her car and drive through the gate. Get out of her car again close the gate. Drive on. This is not how cinematic narrative is supposed to be (unless Someone was being paid by the minute to produce this, in which case, fine lol).
And this is pretty typical of the pacing of the whole film. It's not so much amateurish, because amateur can infer some level of enthusiasm, as just not really watchable.
I very rarely rate anything below 3 but I must put this in that category as a warning to anybody against making the mistake of watching it for an evening of entertainment.

This movie was awesome. The storyline was great, actors did a good job portraying their characters and I liked the ending. It's a believable story. Scott always produces good films but this one is one of his best. I love all the scenery shown in the movie as you really get a feel for how difficult the terrain can be trying to study these creatures. I also liked how people characters were open minded about the possibility bigfoot exists it really added to the movie. Id put this up there with Willow Creek and Exists. It's definitely worth the watch especially if you like more believable movies about bigfoot.
As far as Bigfoot movies go this one is a couple of notches above the usual found-footage, rip-up the campers rubbish starring a baggy gorilla suit.
That said... it's not great either. The acting is fair but the plot/storyline is very thin, especially when it comes to the legal/law enforcement side of things.
Don't expect to see the creature either. This movie tries to explore the 'protect the cryptid from the rednecks' line without attempting to degrade the movie by showing the creature using a sad, baggy gorilla suit. By not showing the creature they have actually done a better job of it.
Sadly the plot itself has more holes in it that sasquatch hide full of buckshot holes but aside from that it is watchable and a refreshing change from the killer Bigfoot gorefest genre.

I really liked this movie! It caused me to think about the possibilities of some "Being" that might live undetected in a vast wilderness. I especially liked that there were people who wanted to protect the possibility of a "Being".
I've seen other videos produced by Scott Herriot. Unverified is the best! I highly recommend this interesting & intriguing film! The actors, camera crew, writers & directors did a great job with the story!
I guess I would like to believe that there is enough wilderness where a peaceful being could live safely. A place where humans could not take advantage of them for monetary gains.

My husband and I just finished watching Unverified. I'm not easy to please but this movie was surprisingly good. You have to have a brain a bit bigger than that of a gnat (unlike the first reviewer) to appreciate how the story unfolded. It's not like watching paint dry. At first I was REALLY skeptical as to whether we'd turn it off in the first 5 minutes but we were both glad we watched it all the way through. I didn't recognize any of the actors but they were all really good and really believable. All in all, we both enjoyed the movie. I also told my husband that I was so happy that it kept me interested rather than looking at the clock wondering when it would be over. Go in with an open mind. If you have a short attention span, find something else to watch. Know your shortcomings and move on, otherwise just sit back and enjoy the movie.
