The Amityville Moon has little to do with the Amityville series except for possibly taking place in that town though we don't see the house or anything nor are there any cursed/haunted objects from it. It's about a halfway house for ex-drug addict junkies with a werewolf stalking and killing them. Much of the film is about these former needle-freaks and seeing as I don't understand addiction nor do I have any empathy these parts fell flat on me. Some nudity or lesbian shenanigans would have livened the movie up. Apparently this is made by some religious nut who is okay with mild swearing but has his tough biker guys say "freakin" and "screw". The acting is intensely mediocre especially that of the main girl. The whole film is shot in a drab and colorless way. There's some bloody werewolf attacks including a woman who has her face clawed off. The werewolf transformation scene is pretty good though nowhere near Baker/Bottin level but at least it was all practical FX. The werewolf suit is pretty good as well though shown sparingly. The sadly too brief werewolf scenes save this from being completely dull. Another very mediocre Walmart horror to add to the pile.
It was decent movie. I definitely seen a lot worse. The story was pretty good but you really don't find out till the end.
The werewolf was fairly decent as far as makeup again there are much worse portrayals of werewolves in some of the movies out there.

This film essentially begins with two young women named "Karla" (Kelsey Zukowski) and "Alyssa" (Alex Rinehart) attempting to escape one night from a rehabilitation center located in Amityville, New York. Although Alyssa manages to crawl out through a window, once outside she turns and, to her horror, watches as some huge beast attacks Karla and rips her to shreds. The scene then shifts to a police officer by the name of "Detective Kimball" (Trey McCurley) being told that these same young women have been reported missing and that his assignment is to track them down and return to the rehabilitation center which they had been remanded to by the court system. At first, he considers this to be a rather routine assignment--but what he doesn't know is that this isn't the first time that a young woman has gone missing from this particular rehab center--and the disappearances always occur on a full moon. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just say that this was a rather dull horror film due in large part to the lack of action and suspense. Likewise, the script could have used some improvement as well. That being said, although I don't consider this to be a terribly bad horror film necessarily, it isn't something I would honestly recommend, and I have rated it accordingly. Below average.
At a halfway house in Amityville, NY something is amiss. (Although the setting might as well be Australia for all this movie has to do with The Amityville Horror.) When two detainees are reported missing a cop and an escapee of the facility team up to unravel the mystery. That's a decent enough premise and this movie could have been entertaining despite the obviously low budget, amateur performances and Party City werewolf costume. Unfortunately the central premise only takes up about a quarter of the runtime; the rest is extraneous filler that quickly grows tiresome. There are also several major plot holes that are addressed but never resolved - just acknowledging that things don't make sense doesn't actually correct the problem.
Decently promising film sadly made into garbage due to the acting which clearly would be the director (casting departments) fault. I mean we're all these people extras who never had attended one class? To be fare this write/director seems to only do E for Effort films. If the people involved aren't students trying to learn then wow. To have money must be nice just to waste it like this.
Overall only what if you are a glutton for torture and have mental issues preventing you from not finding and watching worst than student quality films. The only decent actor was the priest (with the beard).....
