The Magnificent Life of Marcel Pagnol

As an inhabitant of Provence region in France, I had high expectations from this anime movie. As a matter of fact, A Magnificent Life overpassed everything.

I read some Pagnol's books, watched some of his movies, and I wanted something new. Thus this anime brought afresh every aspects of Pagnol's life, timeline and environment.

The story is well written: it is not a copy-paste of Pagnol's biography, it has a purpose bringing a point of view of his child self. The rhythm is well paced, the drawings and animations are great. The musics have been well chosen, emotional in some parts, action in others, and even the rap singer SCH (who was born in the same region as Pagnol's) has signed the ending credit scores.

I highly recommend +++ watching Marcel et Monsieur Pagnol, if you like French literature or is an anime fan, and even if you want an emotional moment with the whole family.
