They Come Knocking

I will say right up front that those kid ghosts scared the hell out of me and that was the biggest saving grace of this movie. The acting wasn't too bad either, especially the older daughter.

The dialogue was pretty weak with some lazy writing including a few overused tropes you've seen 100 times (Where'd the kid go she was just right here! Don't open the door, don't go outside etc).

What bothered me the most was the numerous plot holes throughout. At the beginning there are multiple missing persons flyers in the gas station but these are never explained or expanded upon. The dead guy in the trailer was never really explained much either and was kind of a dead end of a subplot. And I won't give the ending away but it seemed like the child demons haunt people who are grieving which has been done before, which is fine but the whole "letting go will set you free" theme felt a little cliche.

All in all, still worth watching and better than half the crap on Netflix.

I'm trying to save you from wasting 90 minutes of your life. Reviews saying that this is watchable are LYING. If you want a good horror movie, stay far away!! This is NOT a horror movie. I repeat this is NOT a horror movie. There's one scene that's kind of scary, but it lasts a minute and then gets ruined. The movie tackles the heavy topic of grief and a family dealing with it after the death of the mother. That's it. If you're in the mood for that kind of sad stuff then by all means this is the movie for you. But the "horror" aspect is just a trick to get you to watch. If you watch this, you'll finish it with no clue what happened or why-and you'll wish you listened to me.

This movie was a surprise. Had not heard anything about it and it made me and my husband jump a time or two. Good plot. Finally something new!!! The acting was really good! I can't find the cast list so I can't name them specifically but the oldest girl was really good. So glad we found it!! The kids were the creepiest scary creatures I have seen in a long long time. As always I send all my scary movie selections to my daughter and she said it was terrifying........ I would like to see what other movies these actors are in. Very good.

It's been a while since I have seen a horror movie that was this good. Most of them are boring and nothing new. Not since sinister have I been this suprised by a movie.
