This movie was supposed to be a sequel to highly popular Recep İvedik, but these movies are different in many ways.
In the first movie, there was a storyline and jokes were not based on swearing. Yes, there were some scenes which were disgusting at times, but the movie as a whole wasn't so bad.
In the "supposedly" sequel however, nearly all jokes are based on swearing and the movie has no storyline. There are some changes in Recep İvedik character as well. He is now much more aggressive, swearing and can speak English:) Grandmother role in the movie is a total disaster. This role includes nothing more than swearing and player's acting is very amateur and disturbing. In fact, this observation is valid for all supporting characters in the movie except the "bonus" boy.
After the release of the first movie, there were some exaggerated criticisms about the movie being very "low level". I didn't agree with these thoughts then, but now it seems that with Recep İvedik 2,Şahan Gökbakar wants to show the critics what is called a "low level" movie.
I also want to say some things about the directing. In the first movie, directing was obviously bad but Recep İvedik character saved the day. In this sequel, we "surprisingly" see that the director has shown no improvement since the first movie and even got worse. This is not good news for his career, I think it would be good for him to try his chances in other fields before it is too late.
If you can handle the swearing without a story and have excess money, you can watch this movie on cinema, otherwise it is a C-grade movie which at most deserves being watched on video.

Popular Turkish comedy writer and performer Şahan Gökbakar ("Dikkat Şahan Çıkabilir") reunites with his younger brother Togan Gökbakar ("Gen") for this fast and furious follow-up to their 2008 Turkish box office number one hit comedy "Recep İvedik" featuring his titular comedy character which manages to outperform its illustrious predecessor.
Fat, aggressive, unibrowed slob Recep İvedik (Şahan Gökbakar) has more than met his match in the form of his profanity spewing grandmother (Gülsen Özbakan) who sets him the tasks to find a job, gain respect and get married before she dies, which he achieves with a little help from cousin Hakan (Efe Babacan) and loyal sidekick Ali Kerem (Çagri Büyüksayar).
Şahan Gökbakar returns on top form as the inspired burlesque exaggeration of the modern Turkish peasantry at large in the city while superb support comes from Gülsen Özbakan who steals every scene as well as Efe Babacan and Çagri Büyüksayar who are not so easy targets as the westernised "White Turks" of the first film.
The film-makers free the character from the misguided romantic endeavour that so marred the first film to give the comedy creation free range in a series of short burlesque comedy routines more fitting to the likes of Mr. Bean or Borat that are tied together by the loosest of quest story-lines to create a far more satisfying film, albeit one still too crude and obvious for refined tastes.
"I am aggressive, I have complexes, but I am timid as a kitten when by myself. "

I have never seen such a disgusting film. There are comedies to make people laugh showing stupid scenes, but this one is impossible to be regarded as a comedy. There are many scenes to make you feel sick. Sahan Gokbakar, the director and the lead character, despises the audience, making fun of ordinary people in his film. The main character, Recep Ivedik, is a stupid one with a disgusting appearance and foolish manners. What is surprising that people laugh at these silly scenes. Having watched Recep Ivedik 1, cinema goers thought that this one was better, but most of them were disappointed except for the ones who suppose that it is funny to be ignorant and rude. After watching the film, the only consolation is to see that Sahan Gokbakar has used up all his material to claim that he is a good comedian or a good film maker. I hope Recep Ivedik 2 is the last one to deceive the audience.
First of all I love the character "Recep" and I mean it. These film series are heavily misunderstood. People see Recep as a sloppy and pointless character. But he is not. He is one of the best example of anti-heroes; Like Tyler Durden (Fight Club), like Tuco (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) or like Travis Bickle (Taxi Driver). He is an anarchist, he doesn't want to obey the unwritten rules of the society, he doesn't want to surrender to the conformist way of the everyday life. And he, represents the socially awkward people like us, struggling with our problems.
Acting is perfect in the movie. Every character, every extra used in this movie is acting so natural. You feel like you know them, you feel like they are your friends; with joy, sorrow and many other emotions. You feel like Recep, whatever he does.
I think this movie is more satire than comedy, but the comedy part shines more. The movie plot is against rules of society and the vessel is comedy.
I say buy this movie if you love comedy and satire.
