A solid finale that ties everything together, though it doesn't quite match Ep 5's momentum.
The payoffs are satisfying and the performances remain excellent - Oldman and Lowden deliver particularly strong work - but the pacing drags in parts where tighter editing would have helped.
The episode delivers on emotional beats and action, maintaining the show's commitment to moral complexity. Nothing feels unresolved, which is commendable. However, after the previous episode's relentless drive, this feels somewhat anticlimactic in stretches.
At 7.5/10, it's still quality television that respects its audience and honors the season's setup. The conclusion works and leaves characters in compelling places for future seasons. Just wish it had been trimmed by about ten minutes to maintain the thriller pace the penultimate episode established so brilliantly.

I just finished the second season and honestly it delivered a really strong performance. The main theme revolved around ghosts of the past and revenge and the show explored that with maturity and tension. Compared to the first season this one felt sharper with stronger performances tighter pacing and more focused cinematography
Jackson Lamb once again stood out with his sarcastic attitude and heavy presence. Every scene he is in just feels different he adds a unique balance between seriousness and dark humor that defines the shows identity
What always draws me to Slow Horses is hard to describe maybe it is the mystery that makes you feel as lost as the characters or maybe it is that special kind of dark comedy that gives it a flavor unlike any other spy series
The season started with complete mystery and ended with satisfying clarity and each episode built up the tension perfectly. You can not predict the twists or the outcomes and that is part of the shows charm I really hope they keep this level of quality or even top it because Slow Horses is truly becoming one of the best modern spy shows out there.

I really loved that first season of "Slow Horses" and powered through it pretty quickly, despite coming to it well after everyone else had discovered it's brilliance. This second season was, to my mind just as good.
Richard Bough (Phil Davis) a long since retired MI5 officer dies on a bus having tailed a man from central London. Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman) recovers his phone and see the word "Cicada" in the notes. Cicada is a term for long term Russian sleeper agents, placed in British society - and idea that was debunked years ago. Having spoken to his grandfather, River Cartwright (Jack Lowden) takes point on investigating the death.
It's a bigger story this time, as the initial murder gives way to an international terrorist plot that it falls to the Slow Horses to deal with. Most of the excellent cast return for this second run, with additions of Aimee Ffion-Edwards and Kadiff Kirwan as new agents with particular field expertise. Unfortunately, the series does see the writing out of Min, played by Dustin Demri-Burns, who was one of my favourite characters in it.
It's mostly just more espionage and counterespionage, punctuated by a withering put down from Jackson and some jokes about how much he smells, or drinks, or eats badly. But it's cleverly written, even if perhaps there's a twist or two towards the end that are pretty obvious. Slowly the various facets of the team are inspired to get involved, particularly as the two main plots coalesce towards the end.
Again, really really good stuff. Looking forward to cracking on with season three.

- WissenswertesIn the final scene Jackson Lamb places a note on the columbarium. It reads "Dickie Bow served behind the wall - A Joe." The name "Dickie Bow" refers to an alternate name and spelling for Richard Bough, the retired agent killed in episode 1 of the second season. The wall refers to the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain during the Cold War - "behind" which Dickie served the MI5 in the Eastern Block.
- PatzerAt 9.22, a warning message says all elevators are suspended but, at 17.12, when Marcus and Louisa are searching the Glasshouse for Pashkin, an elevator can be seen moving up in the background. All elevators are supposed to be locked because of the evacuation alarm.
