Ma Belle, My Beauty

That is a phrase that denotes the existence of deep, and profoundly "French" aspects of the culture of French provincial towns and of French village life, which withstand the "dominant ideologies" and the "state approved narratives" of multiculturalism (i.e. Anti-identitarianism) and progressivism (i.e. Anti-traditionalism).

"La France profonde" -- not unlike the rest of France -- is irreparably poisoned and on its death bed. For decades now the spirit of Frenchness itself is being deformed by the relentless intravenous infusion of vile and particularly malignant cultural pathogens.

Let the French ethnic body's decaying corpse serves us all other Europeans as a reminder and a warning what awaits us if we allow it.

This is what I took from this movie... Sadness for a once glorious country's utter downfall.

Southern France, southern meanderings. Yes. Or should I say Oui? Give this one a try and you are gonna fall in love with it. It's got all the lovey, dreamy, swishy kind of things that you're looking for.

Soft scenes with natural lighting and soulful music.

You get an authentic view of a polyamorous relationship where each character explores what they can and can't be for each other and the balance between their personal lives and their careers.

A fairly charming character study. I'm a bit surprised that I felt this way about it, since none of the characters are particularly likable. Many will consider it slow, as there are no car chases, explosions, or comic book heroes. Maybe that's part of its charm. Lovely photography of really nice scenery in the South of France. The lesbian and polyamory angles will appeal to some, and turn others off. None of the acting hit any false notes, at least for me.

I want to add that there was a sex scene with partial nudity a little over half way through that lasted probably 30 seconds or so.

Easy to skip.

The movie is cute and fun and had a really beautiful setting and I would definitely watch it again.
