HBO Max is about to add a former record holder to its streaming library. Kung Fu Panda 2, which used to hold the record for the highest-grossing film from a female director, will join the streaming service at the top of next month.

Beginning Aug. 1, Kung Fu Panda 2 will be available to stream on HBO Max. The animated martial arts comedy sequel follows Jack Black's Po, the titular Kung Fu Panda, as he travels to Gongmen City with the Furious Five — Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu), Crane (David Cross), and Monkey (Jackie Chan) — to stop the peacock Lord Shen (Gary Oldman) from conquering China while also learning about his forgotten past. Kung Fu Panda 2 was produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount in 2011, where it received largely positive reviews from critics, with Rotten Tomatoes noting a "certified fresh" approval rating of 82%.

Netflix's hit animated anthology series Love, Death, and Robots has officially been renewed for Season 4, with plenty of new animated shorts on the way from talented animators and directors. The previous "volume" of shorts, as they are referred to, received plenty of praise from critics. While only 18 reviews were posted for Season 3 on the review aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes, it still boasts an impressive 100% fresh rating along with an 87% audience rating. This upcoming fourth volume of shorts also has a release date set for this year.

Per Netflix's official announcement, Love, Death, and Robots Volume 4 will be streaming on the platform on May 15. With less than a month away, it's safe to say that the Tim Miller and David Fincher-produced series already has the new episodes ready to go. One minor complaint from the previous volume of shorts was that there weren't enough varying animation styles with each installment.
