Power Rangers R.P.M.

The Most Adult Power Rangers Seasons, Ranked
Image
For 30 years, the Power Rangers franchise has delivered fun, action-packed series to audiences both young and old. With the long-running continuity of the series, it’s easy to understand why the franchise has managed to maintain an older audience, especially given how much the series focuses on past rangers and nostalgia.

However, the Power Rangers franchise is well-known for being geared towards a younger audience. While some kids' shows, like Avatar: The Last Airbender, managed to create a story suitable for all age groups, most Power Rangers seasons tend to feature a lot of silly moments and oversimplified writing. However, some seasons have stood out as being slightly more mature, allowing both the young audience and adult fans to connect with the series.

24 Years Later, I'm Convinced Power Rangers Fans Give This Season Too Much Credit

Quick LinksI Absolutely Loved Power Rangers Time Force When I Was Growing UpPower Rangers Time Force is Only Anything Special When Telling its Main StoryTime Force Falls Short in Key Ways Compared to Superior Seasons of Power Rangers

There are certain Power Rangersseasons that, since they first aired, have been hailed as the pinnacle of the franchise. Seasons like Power Rangers in Space, Power Rangers Spd, and Power Rangers Rpm are near-universally loved, even with the fandom being able to acknowledge their respective flaws. But, when it comes to Power Rangers Time Force, I think most fans fail to realize just how many issues it has.

Power Rangers Time Force is commonly held up as a masterpiece, but it's far from the best season in the franchise. I love the season, and it features some of the most engaging characters and storylines in the series, along with one of the most talented casts of actors.

The Most Underrated Female Power Rangers, Ranked
Image
It's a sad fact of Power Rangers that male Rangers always outnumber their female counterparts and that they typically receive more screen time and relevance to the story as well. Unsurprisingly, characters who are exceptions to the latter are often hailed as some of the best in the franchise. Jen Scotts and Taylor Earhardt are adored for being the awesome original leaders of their teams, Karone has a stunning arc across multiple seasons, Lauren Shiba made a massive impact in only five episodes, Shelby Watkins was always front and center, and Kimberly Ann Hart remains the most beloved female Ranger ever.

For all that some of them receive their proper due, other incredible female Power Rangers too often go overlooked by fans. These heroines may not have all been central to the stories of their seasons, but they're all still memorable and important in their own ways. Fans may like these Rangers,...

9 Years Later, I'm So Glad This Power Rangers Series Helped Save the Franchise
Image
Quick Links Older Fans Disliked Power Rangers Samurai and Power Rangers Megaforce Power Rangers Dino Charge Made Me and Others Love Power Rangers Again Power Rangers Would Be in a Much Worse Place Without Dino Charge

The Neo-Saban era of Power Rangers was an interesting time to live through, and it's an even bigger oddity to look back on. Power Rangers Samurai put the franchise back on the map, and Power Rangers Megaforce celebrated the series' 25th anniversary, but I vividly remember most people disliking these installments. Power Rangers may have been in the public eye more than it had been in decades, but that didn't stop the core fandom from being miserable for four years.

Following the controversial Samurai and Megaforce, Power Rangers Dino Charge saved the franchise. While Dino Charge didn't perform as spectacularly in the ratings as its predecessors, it did what was necessary to preserve the...

The Most Romantic Power Rangers Scenes, Ranked
Image
Powers Rangers have various different kinds of relationships with one another. Some Rangers are best friends, while others are antagonistic towards one another. Among the most interesting relationships in the series are the romantic ones, as Rangers typically spend an entire season falling in love with one another.

From Tommy and Kimberly to Izzy and Fern, romance has always been in the air in Power Rangers. Naturally, this has led to an abundance of romantic moments. The best of these scenes are well built-up, incredibly directed, and shared by actors with immaculate chemistry.

Tyler and Shelby's Kiss Gets Interrupted

Tyler Navarro and Shelby Watkins have clear feelings from the moment they meet. With Tyler being preoccupied by his search for his father and Shelby focused on proving herself as a Ranger, these feelings don't go anywhere beyond the two dancing around the subject throughout Power Rangers Dino Charge. 10 Most Underrated Power Rangers Seasons, Ranked
Image
There have been over 30 seasons of Power Rangers. Some receive as much praise as they deserve, while others are rightfully maligned. However, there are some seasons where their quality isn't properly represented by their popularity.

Every Power Rangers fan whose favorite season isn't Mmpr has an argument that it's underrated. While Mighty Morphin Power Rangers remains a classic, subsequent seasons aren't as popular. Certain exceptional seasons deserve far more acclaim and recognition, while other, weaker seasons are hated to an unfair degree. Every season of Power Rangers has strong elements, and there's no entry in the series that's entirely indefensible.

Power Rangers Rpm Aired in a Terrible Time Slot

Power Rangers Rpm never had a chance to succeed. The series aired early in the morning as part of a relatively obscure TV block, and the season's showrunner, Eddie Guzelian, was fired half-way through production for going over budget. It's nothing...

December Will Be a Mighty Month for Power Rangers Fans
Image
Two iconic series from the beloved Power Rangers franchise will be streaming on Tubi starting this December. The franchise's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Power Rangers Turbo will be available for streaming for free on Tubi beginning December 1.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is the first entry in the Power Rangers franchise, launching the franchise into cultural prominence after its debut in 1993. The series introduced viewers to the original team of Rangers as they fought to protect Earth from the iconic villains Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers ran for three seasons from 1993-1995, quickly becoming a pop culture phenomenon that spawned a line of toys and action figures. The global storyline of the series would continue in further entries of the franchise, including Power Rangers Turbo, which will also be available on Tubi.

My Favorite Power Rangers 1990s Memory Was Never Canon, But I Still Love It Anyway
Image
Watching Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie on VHS is one of my favorite childhood memories, which is why learning that the film isnt canon was so heartbreaking. Power Rangers is more than Mighty Morphin, but we cant deny how big of an impact the original series had on pop culture. Over 30 years after the premiere of Mighty Morphin, characters like Jason, Kimberly, and Rita Repulsa remain pillars of the Power Rangers franchise across different media even though there have been dozens of other teams since then.

The 1990s Power Rangers mania is one of the main reasons why the franchise remains so popular to this day. Even though Power Rangers is primarily aimed at younger audiences, those who grew up with Mighty Morphin and other Zordon Era shows will always have a soft spot for the franchise. Even someone who hasnt watched Power Rangers in years will remember names like Rita Repulsa,...

Power Rangers Jungle Fury Is One of the Most Underrated Series in the Franchise
Image
Quick Links Jungle Fury Has a Well-Rounded Team of Rangers The Villains of Jungle Fury are Among the Best in the Series Jungle Fury Makes the Most of its Animal and Martial Arts Theming

There are several Power Rangers seasons that are universally recognized as the best of the best. This includes seasons like Power Rangers Time Force, Power Rangers in Space, and Power Rangers Rpm. Other seasons, such as Power Rangers Super Megaforce, Power Rangers Ninja Steel, and Power Rangers Operation Overdrive are viewed as being the weakest in the franchise.

Rarely brought up in discussions of either the best or the worst seasons, Power Rangers Jungle Fury has never received the attention it deserves. Sandwiched between Rpm and Overdrive, Jungle Fury is neither a radical reinvention of the series like its predecessor, nor an unmitigated failure like its successor, leaving it overshadowed by both. Power Rangers Version Of Skynet Gave The Show Its Own Terminator-Style Post-Apocalyptic World

Power Rangers has its own version of Skynet, and it led to a Terminator-style post-apocalyptic future. While Power Rangers is usually associated with Mighty Morphin, there have multiple seasons since the original series ended in 1995. Power Rangers would continue to follow the Angel Grove characters until 1998 when Zordons death led to the beginning of a new era for the show. Some of the best Power Rangers seasons had nothing to do with Mmpr and took the saga in unexpected directions.

This includes Power Rangers R.P.M., which aired from March 7 to December 26, 2009. Similar to most of the seasons released after In Space,...

Every Power Rangers Movie, Ranked
Image
With the news regarding Paramount's Power Rangers reboot, fans are excited to see what's next for the franchise now that it will move onto the big screen. After 30 years, Power Rangers has been a TV franchise predominantly. However, its chronology also includes a couple of films that will now serve as predecessors for the anticipated reboot, such as Alpha's Magical Christmas or the most recent reboot 2017 film, Power Rangers.

Although the Power Rangers films aren't as good as the TV shows, at least according to a great deal of the fandom, they're equally as beloved. Besides, since some of them made it directly to video, only those who are really into the series know about them in the first place. Regardless, they make for a fun time for both new and old fans of this successful franchise.

Rose McIvers Ghosts & iZombie Success Is A Reminder To Watch This Underrated Power Rangers Season
Image
Rose McIver played Summer Landsdown, the Yellow Ranger in Power Rangers R.P.M. McIver's character was a standout in the post-apocalyptic Power Rangers season. Power Rangers R.P.M. is one of the franchise's most underrated seasons with a unique "Terminator" feel.

Rose McIver, known for shows such as iZombie and Ghosts as well as movies such as A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding, was part of one of the most underrated Power Rangers seasons. Although it is not unusual to see Power Rangers actors in other famous movies and TV shows, McIver has one of the most impressive careers of an actor whose breakout role was in Power Rangers. Shortly after her Power Rangers season concluded, McIver would have roles in Masters of Sex and Once Upon A Time before starring as Liv Moore in iZombie.

The Best Power Rangers Fights, Ranked

While Power Rangers is best known for its campy action, not too many fights throughout the series are especially memorable. Fighting makes up about two-thirds of every episode, so it's understandable that after 30 years, many of the battles between good and evil would blend together in fans' minds.

With that in mind, there are truly great fights that fans always come back to that are much more special. Like with most aspects of the series, Red Rangers get the most attention when it comes to action scenes, and all the best Red Rangers in Power Rangers have at least one incredible fight.

The Power Rangers Multiverse, Explained
Image
Power Rangers is a simple show compared to most others, but, over the past 31 years, it has constructed a complex web of lore across multiple forms of media. One of the most common points of confusion about the franchise is its multiverse. With how much Power Rangers content exists, many fans often find themselves confused by what is canon to the main universe and what isn't.

The Power Rangers multiverse is spread across 30 seasons of the main TV series, several movies, an online tabletop campaign series, and the ongoing comic book series by Boom Studios! From these sources, there are seven major timelines that all exist in the same multiverse, with all other material considered strictly non-canon.

The Main Power Rangers Timeline Covers the Past and Future Close The central Power Rangers universe primarily consists of the majority of the Power Rangers TV series, starting with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers...

Meet The Solar Rangers - Who Are Power Rangers' Ultimate Super-Team?
Image
The Power Rangers multiverse allows for fresh storylines and unique team-ups, as seen in the Beyond the Grid arc. The Solar Rangers, a team composed of fan-favorite Rangers from different series, showcases the potential of the multiverse. The Power Rangers comics can explore crossovers that are not possible in the TV show, allowing for new interactions and relationships between characters.

The ultimate Power Rangers dream team show how the franchise's best stories can use its growing multiverse. Multiple realities as a concept have long been part of the franchise's television outings (e.g. Power Rangers Rpm and Dino Charge take place in alternate universes), but adventures spanning the larger multiverse have become a focal point of Boom! Studios' comic book stories.

The importance of the multiverse in the franchise was emphasized during the Beyond the Grid arc, beginning in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #31 by Maguerite Bennett, Simone Di Meo, Alessandro Cappuccio,...

Every Power Rangers Movie, Ranked Worst To Best

Power Rangers has seen a wide range of releases, including movies, TV specials, and TV shows, with some being better than others. Some Power Rangers movies, such as Clash of the Red Rangers and The Legendary Battle: Extended Edition, are actually TV specials combined into one release. The best Power Rangers movie is Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, which offered a big-budget adventure for the first time and remains a symbol of Power Rangers nostalgia.

Love and Monsters Trailer Sends Dylan O'Brien Searching for Romance in the Apocalypse
Image
We have the first trailer for Love and Monsters. Previously going under the title Monster Problems, this is the latest from Paramount Pictures, and also the latest movie opting to skip theaters in favor of a digital release. Dylan O'Brien leads the cast in what is described as a "fun-filled and action-packed adventure." Based on what we're seeing in this initial footage, that doesn't even begin to cover what audiences can expect from this one.

The trailer starts out with a young couple having a nice time. Everything seems normal. Quickly, that peace is interrupted as sirens blare and monsters begin to take over the Earth. As we learn, most of humanity has been wiped out by these gigantic beasts. All the while, Dylan O'Brien's character has been searching for his lost love. Despite the odds, he tracks her down, leading him on a quest to reunite with his lady.

36 Things We Learned from the Deathgasm Commentary
2015 was a fantastic year for horror movies, and one of the more entertaining ones was writer/director Jason Lei Howden‘s metal/horror/comedy Deathgasm. It’s his debut feature, but you wouldn’t know it by how well it manages the balance between gory horror and big laughs. The movie recently hit home video from Dark Sky Films, and while it’s fairly light on special features it does include a commentary track from Howden. He’s understandably enthusiastic about his film, his cast & crew, and — of course — heavy metal music, and he delivers an entertaining track while worth a listen from fans. Keep reading to see what I heard on the Deathgasm commentary. Deathgasm (2015) Commentators: Jason Lei Howden (writer/director) 1. The opening black & white sequence was meant to emulate black metal album covers. 2. Producer Ant Timpson‘s “rectal prolapse” graphic is apparently on his business cards now.
