Zodiac Killer

This goofy movie has one major redeeming quality...the scene near the end where John C. Holmes, the Zodiac Rapist (original title) spies and then confronts a tall, busty blond who's masturbating by her pool. This is the only available hardcore footage I know of, of Linda Wroom. My guess is, her reluctance to do full-blown (pun intended) hardcore was a personal choice and in this flick, all her hardcore penetration footage is shot underwater..though there's no doubt it's her, not a body double or a faked insert. Ditto with the oral scenes. There's no money shot, but that's something she only did one time, that I'm aware of, in a short 16mm storefront grinder from Cavalier Films.

Along with Debi Guntar and Neola Graef, two other shimmery haired busty actresses from the early 70s, Linda's star-turn was short lived. She's undoubtedly in her mid-60s by now.

ZODIAC RAPIST delivers the porn turn-on goods, enhanced by an excellent print transfer for the After Hours DVD reissue. It's far better than the usual John Holmes offering.

Filmmaker John Lamb outdid himself this time with a classic underwater sex sequence, in which Holmes impales a buxom blonde in various positions, beautifully shot. Since Lamb's day job, when not doing porn, was working as a specialist filming underwater scenes (a la Ricou Browning), this is understandable.

Basically an all-sex movie, film's flimsy plot hook is Holmes cast as the Zodiac, a goof-ball sex maniac who's been raping local women, much to the consternation of the police as well as private dick Sam Dobbs (familiar porn face Buddy Boone). IMDb calls the film ZODIAC KILLER, but there's no murdering going on here, only sexual assault. And it's far more entertaining (for me at any rate) than David Fincher's tedious and empty ZODIAC.

A terrific cast of star beauties is a major reason why this film works, especially Sandy Dempsey and Nora Wieternik as Dobbs' secretaries, servicing their boss sexually non-stop, buxom Annette Michael as one of the Zodiac's happy victims, Andy Bellamy cute as ever as a resourceful police woman and Eve Orlon as another satisfied Holmes customer. The blonde in the pool is literally outstanding if uncredited, and a third secretary who teams up with Orlon for a threesome is impressive too.

Photography, not just underwater, is a big plus, with unusual angles and first-person shots adding to the arousal value. A stupid ending, some silly asides dubbed-in for voice-over and a crummy musical score are the film's chief downsides.
