Hum

It's a good trip, you never quite know what is happening, but it has a good feel to it. Strange. I enjoyed it.

It's very weird, it seems like a post apocalyptic church, that contains a cult, or maybe 2? The cult leader murders the protagonists sister? But the protagonist isn't really bothered by this, but his father is? But the sister isn't really murdered? The cult is real? They go searching for the meaning of the box, and they almost die? It doesn't seem to have a pro/anti church message, just weirdness happening within the periphery which is realistic. Idk, but it seems cool and warrants a 2nd watch.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only person to be very confused by this movie. I'm in the process of rewatching it because I want to see if I can decode the message that filmmaker was trying to portray. I feel like there's significance, but I am missing it. This was probably one of those dreams that were difficult to put to paper, and then film. I loved the acting, the settings, etc, I just feel like it went over my head the first watching.

I couldn't ever tell what the story was to be honest, except that a young man was mad that his kooky churchy sister died. So this was a churchy flashing back & forth that REALLY made no sense whatsoever. I live for weird. I love cerebral, complexity, puzzles, open to interpretation, impressionistic, artistic, etc. I hated the music in this, but nothing else annoyed me. It was just a bunch of blah characters being blah & a little churchy. I thought it might ultimately offer some vague spiritual philosophy. Nope. Not even imaginative non-sense. Whatever this was supposed to be about, I totally missed it.
