Homecoming

Much like Thanksgiving in America, "mudik" or loosely-translated as homecoming is a pretty specific tradition in Indonesia where people who come from all over the country to Jakarta in hopes for a better future go back home every Eid al-Fitr holiday to reunite with their families. While this tradition is mostly identified with Muslims, the majority of Jakartans usually do this if their family doesn't originate in Jakarta.
