Crna svadba

Too many dialogues in the script that sound so unnatural to the native Serbian. It feels like somebody took an American low-budget soap horror show and just translated it with zero effort for adaptation. A couple of great actors (like Nikola Kojo) managed to increase the poor quality of their lines to an okay level, but it's still cringe. Standard Serbian sex, nudity and vulgarity are present. A couple of cool technical details, but terrbile CGI (driving scenes are so painful to watch). If you're into religeous, black magic and mystery stuff, you'll be entertained by the plot for a couple of hours, otherwise you'll fall asleep instatly, because the narative is soooo slow.

After i watched show and saw its rating, i felt need to jump here and give contribution in correcting it. Clishe after clishe, poor acting, awful dialogues, plot from American B movies, lots of obvious stupidities (agent of "Bezbednost" for example), needles sex scenes, and so much more. Good first three episodes, good overall idea, great opening titles, good cinematography, great music and (occasionally) directing. But not enough for 8.

Misitical topics, faith and complex story about dark but compelling characters. Slavko Stimac as an antihero is just amazing. I just couldn't imagine him in a role like this, but after watching 4 episodes of Crna svadba I can say that his performance is one of the best I have seen in ages!

I was waiting for the season to end before I form an opinion.

The main thing I like is the theme. How everything was executed not as much. The thing that upset me the most was - 10 episodes later I still don't know why the show is called Crna svadba, as that ritual doesn't seem to have anything to do with the show (except for the first couple of episodes).

The season finale left us with almost no questions answered. I'm not sure I'm interested in investing myself any more to get them.

Screenplay is all over the place and pretty bad. I find it the weakest link of this show. Dialogue is unnatural, characters are one-dimensional. Main parts of the plot are predictable, which I don't mind when everything else makes sense. The second and third episode felt like fillers, and shouldn't have lasted more than 15 minutes in total (I'm all for giving characters some background and bulding suspense, but that was lacking). Some characters disappear and reappear, and by the time they are back I have no idea who they are.

Mixed feelings about cast as well, some actors were great, some not, some seemed as though they were given terrible directions.

I really wanted to like this, but there's room for a lot of improvement in story-telling.

Great topic, great actors, great production! Uliks Fhemiu and Jelena Djokic are just the best! This is one of the best domestic TV shows that I've watched! Can't wait to see the next episodes. Bravo!
