The Real Prime Suspect

The best thing that can be pointed out about this series is that they do not follow the American convention of stating each crucial piece of info 3 times... in these shows the main story elements only get repeated once, however there are many parts of the script which are padding, such as constantly referring to the number of victims in a serial killer's career.

This is an example of how excellent real life crime documentaries should be made. A lot is fitted into an hour, but it never seems rushed. The brilliant and dedicated Jackie Malton is terrific along with other members of the criminal justice system, in relaying what are some very gripping and often horrendous examples of crimes. She should be commended also on how the series maintains a focus not on the deviant criminals, but the victims and their families. A terrific series.

This True Crime is very interesting but im just amazed how the police years ago seem to slip up on alot of case's especially in the 60s & 70s for interest the one in the 70s with Joseph Kappen that was not brought to Justice earlier because the police didnt follow through for instance they nearly had him went to hes house because he match the Description and had the same reported car the police bang on hes door and look at hes car but the wheeles where off and took the word of hes wife that the car had been on the drive for days and the police believed the wife of the Murderer that killed 3 Girls what gets me is why did the Police believe everything the wife said and why didn't the police ask to take alook at all the tyres that was off the car i call it Bloody Lazy Police Work. in the End Joseph Cappen Died Years Later From Cancer i hope he was in alot of Pain when he was Dieing God Bless them Innocent Young Girls Rest In Peace Justice was not Done untill it was too late.

It is an interesting look at the sciences that are being used in interpreting and investigating difficult crimes and evidence. The British female detective is purported to be the detective that Helen Mirren portrayed in the British tv series prime suspect. I saw that series when it aired in the late 80s..? , but I don't recall Helen Mirren's portrayal as a semi literate. This woman's poor command of the English language certainly makes me question her actual detective skills . Totally.. Totally.. in lieu of literally.. literally. Fini.

Massive respect for this lady. But this programme is quite boring in that if it had been cases she had personally been involved in then it would be very interesting. But it's just her talking to people involved in cases she had nothing to do with and them retelling things that were already public knowledge and that have been covered in countless other real crime series. I also wonder if the relatives of the victims of some of these cases would be ok with once again having their loved ones names dragged up for the sake of entertainment to others. I watch and have watched these sorts of shows as I was studying criminal psychology back in my youth and found them very interesting and informative in some aspects but this show is just not for me. I find it uninteresting, uninformative and quite frankly pointless. 4 stars because of my respect for Jackie Malton but that's it.
