Looks like a couple of friends made their first movie on a Saturday afternoon between 2 and 11 pm. However the main two characters played sort of reasonable.
This is a no budget movie. It looks like an end exam of film school where you are forced to work with the means and people you get, but if it is I think some of the students passed. A lot of unconvincing acting, some nice acting. An awful sound, lighting and score. The whole film felt like they were experimenting with equipment, camera shots, directing, sound and editing. Still a few stars because I was kind of captivated. I watched the whole thing, and for many no budget films I do not. In conclusion: some positive elements there, but not something I would recommend.
This is a very apparent low-budget film, however the directors and cast worked well with what they had. A story about two brothers, William and Jobe, who visit their medium aunt to help her move, it becomes quite suspenseful as the film progresses. The film uses classic horror techniques -- other worldly interference with technology, a door to another realm, etc. The two brothers become connected to the other "beings" in the house after their aunt has a heart attack, thus unleashing these beings into the real world and messing with William and Jobe's minds. Jobe is mute, most likely from an early childhood trauma stemming from supernatural events in his aunt's house. He also possesses the same skills as his aunt, and we see from the very beginning of the film that he senses the other beings in the house.
Overall, a decent first film from the Gaudioso Twins, and after seeing their more recent films, I can see the improvement they've made over the years. Nevertheless, Medium is a good start to their career and shows that they have always been passionate about film and storytelling!

Watching this movie was a total waste of time.
There is absolutely nothing good about this movie. The storyline, acting and cinematography are awful. I was totally bored after 20 minutes. I kept watching and hoping something would change. It only got worse.
You have been warned, Good luck.

- WissenswertesAnthony Gaudioso was originally offered the role of William, which he turned down so as to focus on directing, his twin James Gaudioso then campaigned for the role however the directors felt he was better suited to portray Williams disturbed bother Jobe, a choice he later thanked his brother for.
