Very Ralph

A polished story on how a guy from The Bronx with his own sense of style beat the odds to find fame and fortune.

Even entering his 80s, Ralph himself seems amazed by how his knack for fashion could lead to such massive success.

I found the first 40 minutes or so quite interesting, then it became repetitive and overly long.

An informative look about a dude who built an empire around nice but very pedestrian clothes

Quite interesting but it could of been edited down a bit.

What ANNOYED me (even made me angry) where they put in a segment about 'poor kids' justifying their stealing/boosting Ralph Lauren clothes from stores.

Why did the producers of this documentary print this? The guy speaking about his (and his gang's) theft was proud of his actions. As if he and his buddies had a right to steal what they did not work for.

Do NOT show any kind of support for Common Criminals and their actions. Clothes are expensive enough. I would not give any 'equal time' to people that justify their theft that in the long run forces prices up. Most of us know that theft causes insurance rates to go up and the cost of products to go up.

There were some interesting things described about Ralph in the movie.

Seductive, beautiful, flamboyant in few scenes, portrait, with obvious lights of homage , to a great fashion creator. Yes, I was seduced by eulogis and levels of career but few bizarre parts - life the proud of young thieves and the American style model - for an Eastern as me, were too much. So, in simple terms, a fine documentary about succesful model of life. With few flavours of propaganda.
