My first Russian drama overall not bad ,a bit over traumatic in. Places.but nice story line frustrating in places with Igors continuous lies.

I found it very engaging. Far from perfect script, the acting makes up for it. Then the actresses seem to want to out-gorgeous each other. Perhaps got a bit on my nerves the nagging Elsa, how suffering Leonas managed not to stab her in the eye with the kitchen knife, I will never know. Then when a character is in Intensive Care, the room looks like a cheap hostel, seems that the run out of budget to borrow a real or good fake unit? Cos the poor bloke almost dying is just lying quietly with 0 tubes. Due to that flop give it only a 7, 'cos is very decent TV.

Just dire .... Watch the HBO series instead . Hammy acting , terrible music

The only downfall is I wish it contained more episodes. I resonate with Lera being wooed by someone she won't love and falls in love with the wrong (right) guy.

Well, I am no scientist, but I have seen just about every documentary and read at least three very well respected books on the subject, and all I can say is: Give me 6 muppets and a couple firecrackers, and I could probably make a more believable version. Like the worst of "LMN" -with a cast of 1 supermodel, a handsome Matt Damon type in the lead, a couple of pieces of burning firewood in front of a vague looking building at night..and there you have it, Oh, and a couple guys in some "Russian hospital" type setting with ketchup and and older ketchup as "special effects" for the the poor victims of the initial explosion, and you have way more minutes invested in this embarrassing effort than you should have. Watch HBO Films production of Chernobyl and you'll have a very, very real idea of what really happened in 1986. The real story is just riveting, the facts of what really happened is engrossing to the maximum. Read the best seller "Midnight in Chernobyl" to understand the real and VERY complex story! This infantile effort is just shameful. Tripe. -SJ.
