Brilliant animation. Gobsmacked by some of these reviews. If you are familiar with young children and can relate to their view of the world you will find this hilarious and recognise all of the challenging scenarios and reactions of the young princess, who can be quite a handful but is ultimately adorable! Brilliantly and hilariously voiced by our amazing Jane Horrocks. I could not imagine any other dubbed version coming close to the performances of this talented british line up.My ChIldren have all loved it over the years and my 5 year old has just discovered it and laughs out loud throughout. Julian Clary is a wonderful narrator and it's a joy for young and old. Of course the characters are exaggerated and larger than life, it's a cartoon!!!?
I was doubtful about this as my children loved the books but I actually think the TV series is even better. The scripts are excellent and the voices brilliant. It can't be easy to adapt these slight (but rich)stories for TV yet it has been done brilliantly without any obvious padding. All the humour is still there with new delights added. The characters were particularly well drawn. I was worried that the Princess would seem simply spoilt but the magic of her lovable egotism is retained. The voices are perfect. I watched with a sigh of relief. It is a rare show that parents and children can both watch with genuine enjoyment. This is such a show.
Little Princess is a lovely wee show that kids will enjoy, probably as much as my two do. Princess seems to be your average 4-5 year old with the typical self-absorption you find in that age group. Her parents, the lovely down-to-earth king and queen (who wears her crown over a head scarf), are not afraid to say 'no' to their daughter and usually find a way to turn her odd demands into a learning experience. The show teaches without lecturing and is entertaining. It's also easy for a parent to listen to without sending them completely barmy like many other children's programmes. Julian Clary is a wonderful narrator and Jane Horrocks makes a fantastic Princess (I've found the broad accent does require some explaining to my littlies who are Aussies and not used to it).
On the whole, Little Princess seems to be a nice return to the near-innocence (and I stress 'near') of kiddies' shows from 20-odd years ago.

My daughter and I watch this together and we both enjoy it. It is the French dubbed version which, I admit contains pleasant voices (I am not sure if I would enjoy the English version with Julian Clary).
The stories are all based on the type of ideas that enter a little persons head and even I find it interesting to see how the different personage resolve the ups and downs of the stubborn little princess.
The graphics are basic but pleasing to the eye and I like the fact that it is not too modern. It contains interesting characters who all have different habits and relationships with the little princess.
I would fully recommend this to anyone that has a little girl who like the idea of being a princess (and the Mum's should enjoy it too!).

I fall asleep to this every night, I know this might seem odd but I choose this show to fall asleep to out of every other show. As you can see my grammar is exquisite so you should assume I am over 11. (Which I am, I am 15) Talking about the actual show...it's trash. So the main character (The Little Princess) is an annoying little brat! I now this is non-fiction but this is an extremely bad influence to younger children! There is no moral to the stories that are being told. All the plots are the same, The Little Princess wants or doesn't want something and in the end, they're all happy and the princess gets what she wants. There are also some pretty dumb characters, The General for example, thinks this wooden horse toy is real and makes horse sounds every time he runs. And The Queen is also a character, who is an obese woman who barely takes care of her child. She makes her child think that she is more valued than her daughter, The Princess. And the maid is just a bossy enslaved woman who is basically born to take care of The Princess. And The Prime Minister is also a character, who says kissing babies is part of his job...that's disgusting! And the gardener who has a strange addiction of green squash. So that's my review for this show, I know it was a little harsh but it had to be called out for. Thank you for reading this long review!

- WissenswertesProducer Ian McCue went on to produce Thomas und seine Freunde (1984). Little Princess voice actors Colin McFarlane and Maggie Ollerenshaw, as well as writers Dan Wicksman, Lee Pressman and Dave Ingham have also contributed to Thomas & Friends (on that show Colin McFarlane voices Beresford and Bulgy while Maggie Ollerenshaw voices Henrietta). Also, background artist Loraine Marshall went on to provide additional illustrations for the Mr. Perkins' Storytime segments and recording engineer Chris Renshaw took over as the main composer for the series during the twentieth season.
