Pony Trouble is a look at how childlike wonder and joy twist into self-serving hedonism when sheltered suburban youth unprepared for the real world wake up with sexual energy and social drive. The social commentary of this movie is deep and wide.
And at the other end of the spectrum, the plot of the movie itself is just awful. The dialog seems to hover somewhere between adequate and amusing, but you wouldn't know it because the dialog is frequently impossible to hear. The plot (as it is) never gets old because it careens and jolts like a super ball thrown down the side of MT Everest. There is an entire sub-plot about a vampire that is A: never explained and B: never resolved. Even using terms like sub-plot seem inapplicable to this movie, which feels akin to flipping channels when every station is covering vastly different aspects of the same event.
This is not unusual for the movie. People get their head cut off. Drunken half-naked women press up into glass doors. Plots die off as fast as characters. Robots show up. People put on beards and kiss while downing pills. The acting is surprisingly good considering what the actors had to work with, but Pony Trouble was clearly made by unfunded film students to be as bad as possible.
In the grand scheme of things, Pony Trouble is downright awful. But A: it is wonderfully awful, B: it is never boring, and C: it does stick with you. Its driving strength is in just how often it breaks the rules of film-making. If you're looking for the next Clerks, you may want to look elsewhere. If you're looking for pure camp for a college get-together, this film is attack-of-the-killer-tomatoes worthy.

I couldn't stop laughing at this movie about a Pollyanna type girl who dates a biohazard waste remover and the wicked single white female diva who manipulates them all into doing horrible, horrible things but then Megatoy industries intervenes...-silly, sick and twisted comedy. I also love these snippets thrown in there of an interlude of shows within the show. It is just layers and layers of goodness!!!! The best is the "nice" ending... I don't think I have ever seen a movie like this one. It definitely ought to be a better "cult classic" than the Blair Witch Project or Napoleon Dynamite. It is way funnier and way sicker than either of those movies.
I'll attempt to keep this short. As much as I enjoy bad B-Movies of all sorts, this movie was worse than then worst Uwe Boll could come up with. It was a struggle to even pay attention enough to get through this thing.
I would not consider this thing to even be a wanna-be bad B-movie. It's just...beyond bad. Bad doesn't even begin to describe it. There are really no PC words to use to even be able to describe how crappy this movie was. The acting was rancid, the script was horrid and should have been burned, badly shot, cheesy effects even for a bad movie. I know quite a few people that LARP and even in their most extreme nerdy moments, are not that stupidly deranged either drunk or drugged.
Spare your brain and your eyes from this dump of a flick, skip it entirely. Your brain will thank you for it later.

This film was ahead of it's time. Who knew that everyone having a pony would be one person (Vermin Supreme) in the the 2016 election's primary campaign promise? and then, that in 2017, Hillary Clinton would write in her own book, about the idea of everyone having a pony? I don't think that Bernie Sanders hates ponies, but, there are more important things going on in the U.S.A. that he would like to have the opportunity to try and fix. I always loved ponies.
This movie is one of those that you just watch it with your jaw dropped and in the end you go, "What did I just watch?" I loved it and the people in it had to be on something during filming, X,LSD,etc... It's about a group of what I'd call 20 somethings who play a Live Action Role Playing game called The Pony Game but end up taking it a little too seriously... If you don't like low budget cheese with a dash of gore avoid this totally. But if your like me and like to see the movies that fall through the cracks and have small cult followings... This is a movie for you. I mean it starts out with a chick in panties and a baby-doll shirt wailing on a stuffed care-bear thats tied to a bed! It was like.. you had me at the care-bear... everything else was just the gravy on the mashed potatoes! Check it out if you get the chance, you won't regret it!
