Congratulations CAKE TV!
I tuned in early Saturday morning to check-out the new CBS shows and it really is nice to see that CBS is now bringing in real people to their children's morning schedule.
I particularly like the plot. Simple, clean and with a lesson that's tagged at the end and easy for my children (and maybe for all the other kids as well) to pick up. This sure promotes good child activity at home and at play.
Kudos to CBS and the folks who created the show. I will definitely tune in again with my kids and tell my family and friends about CAKE TV.
Christa Allen as Cake, great host, and a good friend to all. Keep smiling, Cake! Got to start checking my garage for things that my kids can 'change'!
Oh, and Anna Maria (long name but cute) as Miracle, she's funny and I like her role. Saw her in Hannah Montana and she can play different characters really well. Awesome job Miracle!
Keegan as Benjamin, reminds me of a young Will Smith! He's funny but I look forward to seeing what he does the next show!
And of course the cute little Emily, as Amy. Gosh, look at the energy she has!
Overall? I say 10! You've got my vote, CAKE TV! My family and I really enjoyed watching and look forward to seeing more of CAKE TV!
Here's one for the books!

As an adult I can appreciate the attempt at healthy hints (slumber party bits) and safety ( the "Party Time" mnemonic). The problem is the execution. The scripts are not well written, or adequately articulate the moral they're attempting to communicate and the characters are not what I would consider role models I would want the girls to emulate.
The girls(7 and 11 in age) loved the previous Nick Jr line up. Neither care for the new KOL secret slumber party programs that have replaced them. In the end I find Cake virtually unwatchable and agree with the girls that there are better things to watch. Lazytown was far better produced, effectively communicated a great message, and was much more entertaining in the process. The Nick Jr shows (Dora the Explorer, Blue's Clues, etc.) didn't play so heavily to gender stereotyping either.

I am just appalled at the negative reactions here to the wonderful, highly addictive series "Cake." This show is so satisfyingly entertaining, with good messages throughout, and three powerful female actresses. Of course, there is the awful character of Benjamin played by a horrible actor, but the character of Cake is such an inspiration to people young and old! And Emily Rose Everhard as the wacky Amy is just to die for, people!! She is too funny and unlike any other child actor on television right now. I hope that "Cake" lasts ten seasons or more. I am 27 now and I still want to be watching this when I am forty years old! That may sound a little creepy, but trust me, this show is why I get out of bed on Saturday mornings!

4/5 9/10
Very good show. Teaching kids how to make numerous arts and crafts. It is explained really well, telling the audience what they need and how to make it. Also what's great about that is, they have rule know as "Party Time" which means "Permission Always Required" "Take Your Time" and "Imagination Means Everything". I was impressed by the rules because it has safety and fun in them which allows kids to have success on whatever they are making. This show inspired me to let my creativeness flow too. It is also an episode too, not just a arts and crafts show. In the episodes it features situations that can come up in all aspects of life and at the end of the day, it always leaves you with an inspirational message. Overall a fabulous show, that features situations and laughs and it always is a joy to watch.

I'm a fan of Saturday morning kids shows going back to the late 1960's. The show is built around making crafts, which is original for any kids show. The United States is so very lacking in originality in kids shows, it's like studios don't even try.
The biggest problem with Cake, besides the lead character's name, is the casting of Anna Marie Perez De Tagle as Miracle. The studio was super lucky to land her, then really didn't know what to do with her once they had her. In case you're not up on Anna's happenings, she is not only a gifted actress, but also a great singer. Onstage, she can hold her own with Cher or Tina Turner. It's hard to believe that such a mighty voice can come out of someone so tiny (she's 5'0"). The other two look often look at Anna knowing that one day, Anna will be one of the greats, with Oscars, Emmys, and Grammys on her mantlepiece. They instinctively know that the audience's eyes are on Anna as she dominates the scenes she's in-without even trying.
It's a crying shame only 13 episodes were ever shot. It's interesting to see that now, two years later, Krista has small bits inserted with her in 2008 with a new craft idea. I've seen most of the eps now, but I'm keeping my eyes open for the series DVD. It's Anna's best role yet.
