Sautela Bhai

This is one the movies done by the great superstar Rajesh Khanna which did not do well as it was not properly publicised and properly released. This movie had all ingredients of being a family drama but poor publicity and poor release went against the movie. In fact the movie is not available on CD/DVD in India and is rarely shown in one of the channels. Rajesh Khanna has done his part of the role well but has not been supported by proper direction and editing. The music by R D Burman is routine too. It is a must see for Rajesh Khanna fans as he is playing the title role and has done his part well. The movie is all about brothers in a village and with Rajesh as the head of the family and about his sacrifices. If one gets an opportunity- one must see this family drama.

Sautela Bhai came at a time when family oriented films were no longer patronized & hence it failed at the box office. It has a good storyline with good performances by Raj babbar, kumar gaurav & deepti naval.

It is a movie to be watched with the entire family. A clean film without any double meanings songs or dialogues. The music is average. Direction is OK.

Rajesh Khanna is the central character of the film & he has given a very matured performance. The scene where he whips kumar gaurav & then repents later is excellent. He has carried the film entirely on his shoulders.

A must film for rajesh khan fans & family audiences
