Café solo o con ellas

I saw the movie last week on DVD and enjoy the movie a great deal, I have to say I haven't laugh so hard with a movie on years.

The movie is about four friends on the thirties and their problems with the women. The four friends try to find their loves of their lives, and in the way, they go through hilarious situations.

The movie is filled with great scenes, where you can't stop laughing. It also has it's romantic side, and I have to say that the love scenes, where very romantic, funny and inspiring. All the actors are great and I have to say that I was really surprised by the talent of the Spanish actors.

It's funnier than American pie and the good thing is that the story line is very good. I recommend the film and I assure anyone that sees it, that he o she are gonna laugh for a straight 95 minutes.

I wish they made more movie like this one, I simply loved it.

As always happens with Spanish directors they seem to be more worried in showing beautiful naked young girls than in telling a good story, "Cafe solo o con ellas" (Coffee black or with girls) is nothing but a poor "American Pie" wannabe Spanish style which means more sex, poor jokes, abysmal acting and an absurd story...so what we get is nothing but a useless (and tasteless) pile of dump.

And so the Spanish industry goes, releasing this sort of movies in summer,trying to compete with big blockbusters like Spiderman 3; POTC:AWE or Transformers...

Save your money (and time) for a real movie.

This movie was great! I saw it this summer while in Spain with my friends and we all thought it was hilarious. The movie was funny, and although it had no deeper complex meaning, it did it's job of providing a good laugh.

I have no idea if it's here in the States, but if you do get the chance to watch it, I highly recommend with subtitles instead of dubbed. If dubbed the movie seems out of context and not very understandable. I also think the title is more of a play on words so instead of "Black Coffee or with girls" I think it's more "Coffee alone or with them (girls)" which does make more sense to the movie.

I would recommend this movie to anyone who just wants to watch a good movie and have a good laugh.

Although it is as the person previous stated, 'a typical Spanish movie', it did have it's good jokes, and it was definitely funnier then ANY of the 'American Pie' movies - Some of the jokes are too personal to the country to be understood by foreigners, which is why this film would never be a success anywhere else (ie. The grandmother's love for Franco). The film did have some implicit sex scenes, but that is only because the Spanish film industry (as well as Spanish people) is very comfortable with sex and showing sex on television and film, it is not 'behind closed doors' as American films are with sex. It definitely isn't a GOOD film (after all, what movie that belongs to this genre can be called a 'good' film), but it is entertaining.
