First of all, I was amazed at the cast that he put together for this film. Even actors that aren't household names that you might recognize appear in this movie. You almost forget that it is an indie with this amazing cast.
The plot is your typical drug war trying-to-get-out-the-game story but the fact that everyone raps for 120 minutes makes it interesting enough. There are only several other movies that did this but not as great as this one(i've seen them all). Not to mention this was written by sticky fingaz, maybe not alone but definitely written by him.
On the other hand, sticky was also the director. Some of the camera angles and scenes left you saying "wtf?" and wondering if they had enough time to edit the film before release. I laughed when I seen the credits- stick had his hands in every thing but most noticeable was that he was a camera man.
Unlike some of the other movies onyx played in, this one had no problems at all with acting and could have been a great film if it weren't for the terrible camera work. All in all, I definitely suggest you rent/buy because it is something different. You might get some laughs in, I know I did.

A Day in the Life covers the story of a gang of new yorkers pushing drugs and living fast. Life in the game in hard, and somethings about to go down. The whole movie is set to a hip-hop beat, with all the dialogue in the scenes being rapped along to the music.
I viewed it without knowing any of this information, or what to expect at all. I was not only surprised, but very impressed! The style of dialogue delivery serves only to heighten the tension throughout, with gun battles and all out war which builds steadily with rare respite.
There is an occasional hardware(weaponry) showcase as a testimony to just how much business the new yorkers mean, which was a bit pointless to be honest(although I did chuckle!).
There are some characters you will recognise, even more so if you have watched many gang related series on television(such as "The Wire"), it was nice to see some familiar faces.
As someone who dislikes the vast majority of hip-hop and a fair amount of rapping it's easy to see how some may dislike this movie. Having said that, personally I would recommend it as something different, unpredictable and quite simply a very interesting piece of work!

A musical for gangsta rap fans.... seriously! A Day In The Life actually plays like your average gangsta rap album being acted out while the lyrics are running. You could literally black the TV and listen to this movie like a 1:30hr CD. Terrible acting, but it is what it is and actually a good attempt at it. Coolest thing is all of the usual hardcore ghetto movie suspects are present in one movie... Omar from The Wire, Onyx (Fredro Starr, and Sticky Fingaz), Treach, Mekhi Phifer, Cane from Menace II Society, Omar Epps, Faision Love, Bokine Woodbine, Kurupt, guns, sexy video chicks, genocide, excess money, suspicion, and drugs.
The two most seasoned actors in the film show it during their scenes while rapping their respective lines. Guess who they are...

Another disgusting movie put out by Hollywood. Hope an massive earthquake hits and Hollywood falls into the sea. That would be a good movie, doubt it.
This is one of the best gangsta movies out there. Not only is the script fantastic, but everything is synchronized with excellent hip-hop music. A must see.
The only reason it got a bad grade is because it shows violence among black people. It's not the usual mantra of "white people oppressing the black people" but more like "black people oppressing the black people". Which is reality.
But if you make a movie about reality, your rating gets artificially degraded.
Still... watch the movie. I guarantee it will be one of the best movies you've ever seen (if you like gangsta movies).
