I was a kid when I used to watch this show.
This was the only Disney Channel cartoon that I ever fell asleep to. I don't mean it was soothing; I literally mean this show put me to sleep. I was trying to stay awake at a sleepover and I totally passed out. I had been fairly alert before the show started.
There were three problems that I always had with this show.
First of all, the story was ALWAYS the same. Talk about beating us over the head with the same lesson over and over again! I was actually that weird kid who liked shows with a moral, but this - this was just painful. Kids are smarter than you think. We get it.
Secondly, none of the characters were likable. I watched plenty of cartoons around that time that had impossible scenarios. I've seen many shows that relied on stupidity to get laughs. And I laughed. But not with this show. There wasn't a single character I could like.
Finally, the animation artwork was not Disney quality.
This may sound harsh. But I'm being honest. This show was used as my standard for bad television. I remember saying, "At least it's not as bad as The Replacements!" on numerous occasions. This show was cute once or twice, but if one had to watch it on a regular basis, it was so thinly executed that there wasn't anything new or novel to redeem it. It was just the same old boring jokes and the same old boring mistakes - the kids never learning, but always beating the same messages over your head.
Maybe it made for some good midnight cartoon programming, but it sure wasn't worth being on Disney.

For a show with such a good theme song, it really misses the whole "Being a good show" thing, I mean it's okay, I just expected so much after that catchy tune.
I guess the best way to describe The Replacements is: It isn't not funny.

*Gosh awful. I'm not sure if you took the Lord's name in vain or not, but I feel the need to correct you. And I do agree with the lesson from the show, calling someone to make your problems go away. but it's for the fun of it! and some of the material is funny. but the moral of the show, in my opinion, is that you should be grateful for what you have. okay, so I've got 4 and a half more lines to fill and so I am just going to type randomness.
Every time I think I'm closer to the heart Of what it means to know just who I am I think I've finally found a better place to start But no one ever seems to understand
I need to try to get to where you are Could it be, your not that far
You're the voice I hear inside my head, the reason that I'm singing I need to find you I gotta find you You're the missing piece I need, the song inside of me I need to find you I gotta find you
Oh yeah Yeah yeah
You're the remedy I'm searching hard to find To fix the puzzle that I see inside Painting all my dreams the color of your smile When I find you I'll be alright I need to try to get to where you are Could it be, your not that far

Been feeling lost, can't find the words to say Spending all my time stuck in yesterday Where you are is where I want to be Oh next to you... and you next to me Oh I need to find you... yeah

This story is about Todd and Riley (the main protagonists), who are middle-school siblings with special cells that have a big F-button on them. This particular button grants the siblings the ability to Replace any adult they want, with another adult or animal.
When I heard about this cartoon (in 2006) I thought it was going to be completely boring, so I went on with my life and ignored it. About thirty-two months later I just happen to turn on the TV, and guess what was on next. You got it; the Replacements. I decided it was time to finally watch it.
Next thing I knew, I was trapped in the TV. I kept on watching, and got mad at anyone who got in my way during the Replacements. On my first episode I laughed so hard I couldn't stop! The Characters are amazingly funny to me in every aspect, and it frequently gets to the point that the show isn't funny anymore, it's hilarious! The voice acting is unbelievably amazing, and I'd say that the plot worked out for my sister and me just fine. Wow, what have I been missing?!
I want there to be a season four it's so good! Make the call, this Fall. Ahh, So catchy. Why not give it a go? It's worth it.

When I first saw this show, my reaction was 'WTF?' The animation style wasn't attractive to me in the least and the whole idea of replacing adults all the time was the worst ideas for a plot. However, after it's been on for, what, a year now?, it's grown on me.
The animation, despite it's style being different from normal Disney, is smooth. I actually like the backgrounds, but that's more my artistic style talking, because I think it's cool you can see paint strokes. But, anyway, the jokes on this show are, for the most part, not the best. Though there will be something that comes up once in awhile that are truly funny- though I also have a weird sense of humor. The characters, actually, are decent. Yes, they're rather flat characters, but each have distinct personalities, at least. The plots each episode are rather weak, though recently they've gotten a little bit better. One thing I really like about this show are continuities. For example, early episodes call the school George Washington Middle School. Then, after an episode when Todd insists the first presidents last name was Stapler, the school has been called George Stapler Middle School.
I certainly don't watch it religiously, or even when it just happens to be on. But I don't cringe watching it like some others, especially since it's improved just a little.

- WissenswertesThe reason why the story of Todd and Riley is explained in the opening song was because Disney considered that the children's audience would assume that Todd and Riley had replaced their parents, deciding that in the intro it is explained that they were adopted from a beginning.
- Crazy CreditsThe first season closing credits feature Fleemco advertisements, endorsed by someone in the show (the person varies with each episode).
