TBH, if I were one of the performers, I'd have been livid at how bad the audio was. I have no clue why the videographer didn't pull the audio from the mic they were holding and, instead, opted from using the 'el cheapo' setup he got from wish, but here we are.
I love all 4 of these comedians, but I'd recommend finding something else to watch. This was included with Prime, and we were pissed about the cost.
The DVD version of this film does add some hope to this offbeat title, but it still suffers. The bonus features on the DVD are superb, to say the least. Much easier to watch than the actual film itself. For instance, the boys go for a stroll to the White House and play a trick on President Bush (played by a comedian).
As a television movie, the film had quite too many pauses in the one hour and forty minutes it was aired. The jokes were overused, and sometimes bland. No real humor in much of the material. The appearances of the four gentlemen are somewhat higher than Blue Collar.
Overall, the film was average, and I gave it a 7 out of 10.
It's hard to say what went wrong in the second part. I didn't hate it. But something wasn't on par with the original. When critiquing a comedy special, it's strictly what topics you yourself funny. What you find funny isn't what others do making it hard to efficiently review a special. One for the Road shows the guys at their funniest and that is what it's all about.
We start out with Bill Engvall, surprisingly, since he is usually saved for second to last or last in the performances. He is the funniest of everyone talking about impressing fifth grade girls and a stressful trip to the massage parlor. Ron White starts talking about Texas Hold 'Em and the state of awareness scale, and this time, he is actually pretty funny.
Usually I grin when Ron White is on stage, but I actually found him very funny during this special. More points. Jeff and Larry close the show with Jeff and Bill being the major highlights of the film. Then, at the very end, as a Blue Collar tradition, they all come out on stage and do something with a theme. This time; telling their favorite jokes and looking at photos they are "not proud of." Just wonderful humor.
This is the final special from Engvall, White, Foxworthy, and The Cable Guy. There is another one called Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Next Generation. But from what I hear it's just four other Blue Collar impersonators doing their own shtick using the four guys' humor. I think I'll stop here. One for the Road stands out in the trilogy for discussing the funniest topics and having memorable lines dropped one after another.
Just to let you know, if you ask if this is a review of Blue Collar Comedy Tour: One for the Road, I'll say "Nope, it's a review of the DVD cover." Heeeeeeere's your sign! Starring: Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, Bill Engvall, and Ron White. Directed by: C.B. Harding.

- PatzerRon White declares his wish to set the execution date and time for the Moussaoui case for 1:00 AM on the day we set clocks forward for Daylight Saving Time. The switch from Standard Time to DST and vice versa occurs in each time zone at 2:00 AM local time, not midnight.

Ron White: Theres this cruise ship and theres a magician that works on the ship and the captain had a parrot that liked to go to the show everynight. The parrot understood the show and since it could talk it would give away everything. "ohh, he's puttin it in his sock bbbrrrrrrkkkkk" "he put it up his sleeve bbbrrrrrrkkkkk" "its in his hat bbbrrrrrrkkkkk." And the magician just hated this bird. and one night he just snapped and he pulled out a pistol and he shot the bird and the bird ducked and the bullet misses the bird and it hits a propane tane and blows the ship to a billion peices. the only survivors are the parrot and the magician and their floating out in the middle of the ocean on two little peices of wood and the parrot goes "Alright i give up. Wheres the damn ship?"
