The show is OK, You can tell that it is a rather low budget show considering its quite obvious that the laughing is a sound track, It sounds the same every time! The problem is, is that the plot has been done so many times before...
So many times people have found a lamp and there's a genie inside, they wish and the wish "doesn't go to plan" Its a decent show, But eventually you are likely to get bored of the same similar plot lines...
I would say that this show is good for 7-11 year olds because of the simple plot lines.
I think that the lack of budget is the reason behind its poor ratings.

The programme itself is a little odd but will be greatly enjoyed by under 12s.
Considering the basis it has been put together special effects are not bad and the scripts are done simply enough to carry this off, particularly considering the audience it is designed for.
The episode with "Rascal" was quite funny and is a good example of the entire series.
Aside from this Katie Sheridan (Sophie Norton) is absolutely lovely and sparkles on screen.
I imagine she will have many dads glued to the TV and I hope to see a lot more of her on other programmes (TV Companies take note).

I think this show is perfect for the kids it's aimed at. My 2 love it. OK the story lines are a little contrived and the acting is rather huge but they think it's hilarious.
If you have kids under 12 and want them to watch something that will keep them entertained this is the show. It's not going to teach them anything but then what on Nickelodeon does these days!
The 2 girls, Sophie and Emma, are pretty and well mannered and there is usually a moral to the story in the end of each episode. The father, Philip, plays a bit of a "dorky dad" and the genie is always getting the girls into trouble, but is amusing and acts very well.
On the whole a nice piece of entertaining TV for the kids - gets my thumbs up!

OK, so the acting is awful and you can't really deny that. I'm not sure whether the actors are British and bad, or American trying to be British, but either way, their accents cannot be real. No Brits talk like that. The story lines are predictable and some of the scenarios the characters find themselves in are ridiculous. The show is obviously low-budget, as is made clear by the average special effects. The genie, Adil, has the most stupid voice and makeup on, it's almost laughable. I feel embarrassed for him. But ultimately, I think the show is designed to be silly watching. Like the other Nickelodeon UK show, Renford Rejects, which was really quite awful.
On the positive sides, I can imagine the show being a bit of fun-watching for younger children, such as below 11. Also, the two sisters and very attractive and well worth a look. Give the show a few tries, and once you adopt to its unique style, you may find it interesting.

Holy mackerel! I thought this show was just some more cheap American Sitcom trash directed at lazy kids with nothing better to watch. My wife and I grimaced while we tried to determine whether the accents were fake or not. I literally had to go online to find out where the show was made. Boy were we shocked to find out it was British. There is nothing funny about this show at all! I mean the Genie in the house theme has been done so many times already, why bother? Yikes! Just awful!!! I commented on how our children were just staring at the TV. not laughing at all. I mean there is nothing funny with it whatsoever. What is the story with the father? he acts like such an airhead but he is filling out all this important paper work in the kitchen? Furthermore, I cannot figure out the family dynamics here. I suppose I would know if I saw the original pilot. To tell the truth though, I am glad that I didn't. Why waste our time with this kind of garbage?

- WissenswertesThe word "genie" in original Arabic is actually "djinn" which stands both for a genie and a demon as well.
- Zitate
Sophie Norton: [to Emma] Yesterday, you did ask me if Joan of Arc was Noah's wife.
- Crazy CreditsAdil conjures up the names of the cast members but can't do it quite right: Katie Sheridan's name deflates and flies around, Vicky Longley's name comes out mixed up and has to be kicked into place, Jordan Metcalf's name is too heavy and falls on Adil's foot & Adam Morris's melts on his head.
