A woman about to take her life, on account of a broken heart, ends up finding herself in cue for help. Can anyone think of a better way to grow despair than being told to wait in line? It's great how the plot manages to point out that one's solution most likely emerges on its own rather than it does through so-called qualified help. 'Hold please' runs on a very funny collection of dial options at a suicide help line, leading to Jane's burst of anger... I really enjoyed Lisa Hensley's performance, playing the main role. From vulnerable, betrayed to wicked and violent, she really was up to it! Stacy Dymalski picks on the common feeling one gets when dealing with automatic call centers and pushes it to the edge. This reminds me of an episode titled "Técnicas para deixar os clientes loucos" ("Techniques to drive clients insane"), featuring Regina Casé and Pedro Cardoso, from Brazil. I find 'Hold please' much better, but the general idea is that bureaucracy always comes across, pacing you down, even if it's an emergency.
