The film effectively builds suspense through a combination of psychological tension, unsettling imagery, and a chilling atmosphere. The isolated setting of the hospital, with its decaying infrastructure and unsettling history, adds to the overall sense of dread. Dr. Deniz's growing paranoia and the increasingly bizarre occurrences within the hospital walls keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
"Gen" explores themes of isolation, madness, and the blurring lines between reality and illusion. The film's ending is ambiguous, leaving viewers to question the nature of Dr. Deniz's experiences and the true extent of the supernatural forces at play.
However, "Gen" may not appeal to viewers seeking graphic horror or jump scares. The film's focus is more on psychological terror and creating a sense of unease. Some viewers may also find the pacing slow at times.
Despite these minor shortcomings, "Gen" is a noteworthy entry in the Turkish horror genre. It effectively delivers a chilling and thought-provoking cinematic experience that will stay with viewers long after the credits roll.

But if you watch "Gen" you will understand that it is a strike. The atmosphere of the movie is impressive and dark. Also the special features are colorful and not cheap. The soundtracks fit the movie, but the script is not totally perfect and the theme of the movie is ordinary.
As a result "Gen" does not add any difference to horror movies, but it does not disappoint thriller fans. In this respect it is a success for Yesilcam and Turkey. (7/10)
