    Colorful, stellar, challenging

Pokemon FireRed is a game boy advance version of the original, Pokemon Red. Its very fun, I mean the graphics are like 500 times better than just plain old Red, more animated attacks, houses & buildings look cool & of course the Pokémon are are like much more colorful than the original & the color is very dazzling the trees are green, the grass is sheen and all that jazz. the sound & music is no longer just ear cramming beeps & sirens, its fluid, even beautiful (the S.S. Anne), and kinda spooky (Mt. Moon).

The story really is not mind blowing, but this game is an RPG & like I said, its fun. You start as a a boy or a girl and a highly acclaimed Pokémon professor, Samuel Oak invites you & his snooty grandson to choose between 3 starter Pokémon (the seed dinosaur Bulbasaur, the fire lizard Charmander, the aquatic baby turtle Squirtle) and then go out into the world as a Pokémon trainer, capturing as much Pokémon as you can & raising them (thats what the game is really all about). As the game moves on, you can face very powerful trainers who have their very own gym, each gym leader revolves around a favored Pokémon type (Brock, he buffs up rocky Pokémon, Misty she likes watery Pokémon), when defeat a gym leader they will give you a badge, when you get all badges you can go to the Indigo Plateau. This game has carried traits from other raising Pokémon games (gold & silver, ruby & sapphire), like new attacks, new creatures, Pokémon abilities & more.

In the end of the game the are some exotic island to be explored, and of course these islets were not in Red (or Pokemon Blue, its new version is Pokemon LeafGreen). But there was something really fantastic about the old Red, I mean when I first played, it was really fun. I remember going going to the lake with my family and playing Blue while we were driving there, I was training a Metapod (a cocoon Pokemon) in Veridian Forest so it could transform into a Butterfree. Yeah, I know Red & Blue are glitchy and cheap, but there was something really fun about it.

The Best Pokemon Game i've played in a long time

I have to be honest, at first i didn't want to buy this game but now i'm glad i did. The reason at first i don't want it because i thought it would be just be the same adventure as the first two games, Red and Blue. But when my brother convince to have this i decide to give it a shot. And i'm so glad i did.

This game offers more that just the same adventure. It has improved graphics and music. The playable characters looks great as well. The new girl is really cute and the Boy looks great as well unlike that Albino boy Brandon from Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald who has white hair. The Pokemon looks just as great as they do in the anime. The music of this game is really good. It feels like real music rather than annoying beeping sounds. Its great to hear the old music again in a new way.

Another great thing is that you can get Jhoto Pokemon from Gold, Silver and Crystal versions. The place where you can find these are in the Sevii Islands, the best part of the game. These islands are first introduced in this game and they have a lot of Jhoto Pokemon, new mysteries to solve and of course you can breed Pokemon as well. You can also catch one of the Jhoto legendary dogs from this game depending on your starter (I started with a Bulbasaur so i'm getting an Entei). Also on these islands you can hear music from the good old Gold and Silver games which i think its creative making it look like these islands are half of Jhoto being chopped into pieces.

They are some troubling parts in these games like the Altering cave for example. Its so confusing on how to get those Jhoto Pokemon in those caves and i have no idea how this Mystery Gift thing works. Another thing is that there is no clock to tell what time it is. And with this you can't evolve Eevee into Espeon or Umbreon.

Overall this game rocks and its the best Pokemon game ever but tied with Pokemon Emerald.

Gamblers had their name changed to Gamers in this game, as Nintendo didn't seem to want a gambling reference. Yet surprisingly, the Celadon City Game Corner - where you can go in and play slot machines - was left completely intact.
