Besser als Schule

I saw that movie in the sneak preview yesterday. At the beginning I like to quote the comment of Brunnenkind:" The story is dull and uninspired "boy meets girl, bla bla bla, happy end"." -- quote end. They really did a good job not missing any cliche existing in these sort of movies. The jokes were all heard before and the storyline is somewhat predictable and somewhat lame. But as mentioned before, this movie was shown in a sneak preview and so the auditory wasnt the target group for that kind of movie (hell - we're going to watch a movie at 11pm during week and we dont know what crap/ubermovie they will serve us - so dont expect sneakers to be a target group for that ... we're bloodthirsty ;-) ) - there was a lot of laughter all the time, because there was always someone commenting a scene - at least something funny. If you want to watch that movie you should be preteen or drunk/stoned...then you can maybe doat (preteen) or snicker cheerfully (drunk/stoned).

Ok, for a movie with such a thin plot, the one-line-summary would be just enough...as I can completely support those two above me concerning the plot and the main characters. But there is one thing which really improved this movie: The unimportant characters are just great - the parents have nothing to do with the story, neither does the manager of "Marc", an ex porn-photographer, but they are really enjoyable. Not to a Coen-brothers level, sadly, but pretty far on the way up there. Therefore, there were some moments I just had to enjoy, just as rare as stars in space though. Tough decision here, but I give it 4/10, a bit more if you like romance-driven stories (but not much)

Extremely boring, no innovations, german moviemakers obviously are just as bad as hollywood ones! They just proofed, that everyone is able to produce a cheap movie with a standard plot that has been filmed thousands of times. The only reason for me rating this movie "2" instead of "1" is some stupid, permanently stoned guy who really made me laugh once. They really just took the worst actors from the cheapest TV-soaps and put them alltogether, the outcome was as bad as expected. This was definitely the last time, i went to the cinema, without knowing which movie is going to be shown.

I saw "Besser als Schule" yesterday in the sneak preview and it was truly horrible. The whole audience sighted in pain and tried to keep some humor by cynicaly commenting this daft and sappy movie. The story is dull and uninspired "boy meets girl, bla bla bla, happy end". All actors had their debut in bad German soap operas and that's exactly the quality of this movie. A soap opera (clumy acting, bad setting, boring story) stretched to whole movie length. Much to my regret I sat in this movie and thought about how much more fun I could have had, if I just stayed home, staring at a white wall. Take my advice and avoid this movie by all means!

I also got to see the movie in the sneak preview, and the above comment pretty much described what was the overall opinion of the whole audience. The movie was plain aweful, in fact, I cant even think of another 'teen movie' quite as bad as this one. Pretty much every scene was one that you figured out how it would actually be like 10 minutes before it would come up, not even meantioning the 'heart' that appears on her chest.

I didnt know the actors at first (as I cant describe myself as someone wastching the oh-so-great (german) soap operas), but yeah, the acting, in fact anything about the movie sucked. There where some moments in the movie where one could hope, it would turn to the better - but the audience was mistaken at every scene that seemed like it.

Dont spend money on this at the theatre, dont go rent it on dvd, in fact, dont ever dare looking at the dvd cover of the movie.
