Beccerra

I loved Becarra so much I had to go see it twice. The movie moved along easily while the expertly written script holds the audiences attention through out to the very end leaving you wanting more...more...more. The actors were fantastic, the cinematography superb and the direction excellent. Definately the next must see cult classic for the new millineum. An easy rival for Run Lola Run!

First I would like to say that I enjoyed some aspects of this film but as a whole it left A LOT to be desired. The technical aspects of the film were good. It had good sound, good shot composition, and good lighting. For the most part the acting was also good. I enjoyed the leads and thought they did a good job with the rather flat dialogue. Although some of the acting, like the newscaster, were just plain awful. The editing while adequate and not horrible was a bit simplistic and amateurish. If this was the end of my comments the film would have received a high seven for a great effort but alas it is not the end. There is one aspect of this film that must be discussed, the ending. While the film as a whole was wonderfully imaginative the end showed an absolute lack of any imagination. The director/writer obviously didn't know how to end his film so he decided to make the ending abstract so that way if anyone asked him what the ending meant he could say `what did it mean to you' this, in my opinion, totally subverted the entire film. Well that's about it. What can I say, maybe I missed something but when you make a movie about manipulation of time you shouldn't leave it to the audience to guess what you meant. And don't hide behind the fact that it's science fiction.

I liked this short film. I think this movie was an entertaining ride. The movie seemed to have a good pace, it never hit a dull moment. The time travel or altered reality subject was handled very uniquely. Overall, I think the film was interesting, and painted a good picture. The visuals and score were strong, and helped this film flow. I would recommend this film to anyone who has a chance to see it.

I saw Beccerra in a packed house in Denver, Colorado and the entire audience was spellbound by Kelsey's deft manipulation of time. The acting was superb.....and the ending....well, you'll just have to see it for yourself. Kudos.
