Funny and smart comic-geek 'toon show

Although only the premiere episode has aired as of June 2002 on "Cartoon Network," "Welcome to Eltingville" is an extremely well-drawn animated series with sarcastic, penetrating insight into the geek-world of comics, fantasy role-playing and sci-fi movies. The series' three lead male characters each represent an aspect of this world, and are perpetually hounded by a nerdy, even-more-geekier younger (hence, ignored) kid as well. The dialogue comes fast and furious, and is scathingly funny! Anyone into comics, sci-fi or fantasy will find enough inside-jokes and self-references to fill several hours' worth of research! More! More! More! (And the theme song is to die for!)

We are the "Eltingville Science Fiction Fantasy and Role Playing Game Club!"

Awesome and hellaciously funny. And has spawned a show on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" just as equally funny. I love watching the antics of the very nerdy and quirky characters (whom kinda remind me alot of myself and people I know) The satyre of the show is very good. And when they do a Trivia Off, look out! Of course most people who have seen the show may have been un able to catch all the in jokes and sci-fi refferences (Unless you're a huge trekkie or Star Wars buff, I myself am more into Knight Rider )

Josh reminds me alot of my friend John whom is majorly into Pax Draconis, DnD, and anthropomorphic animal role playing games such as "Werewolf: The Apocolypse." and also Furry comics. Its funny to watch the characters beat the living crap out of each other over collectors items. This is a REALLY funny show. But it is mainly made to appeal to nerds like me and John. Which is kinda what Adult Swim is geared towards, just us nutball anime /sci-fi buffs. I don't know of many football jocks who watch Outlaw Star or Cowboy Bebop. Or Space Ghost Coast to Coast, or Home Movies for that matter.

The Best Show In The World On TV History

It Was A Great Show Just Like South Park & The Show Would Be On Comedy Central With The Same Voice Cast & They Would Have Crossover Episode Between South Park & Welcome To Eltingville Bill & Josh Fight Just Like Kyle & Cartman & They Hate Willoughby & They Hate Pip & That's Entertainment For Welcome To Eltingville & South Park & Cartman Stan Kenny & Kyle Would Have Their Own Club in South Park Just Josh Pete Jerry & Bill On Welcome To Eltingville & Kyle Cartman Would Have Trivia-Off For Darth Vader & Boba Fett & Han Solo & Luke Skywalker & The Would Watch Loony Tunes insead Of Xena On The TV .

Big Bang Theory but done right.

One of the best pilots that never got picked up. Cartoon Network in the 2000s was one of the best in the animation industry. Even the projects that were canceled were incredibly good.

I've watched this pilot five or six times, and it still entertains me and makes me have a great time every single watch. The pilot has excellent pacing and a solid plot (thanks in large part to Dorkin's great comic book story).

In this version, unlike the comic, Pete and Jerry are more laid-back and seem calmer than their comic counterparts. Bill and Josh are still despicable, horrible human beings, but their behavior is toned down compared to the source material.

I can see why CN decided to shelve the project. Even though Dorkin's comic book was amazing, it was hard to adapt into a PG-13 TV show. If Adult Swim had been as big back then as it is now, this show might have actually been greenlit. It's also a challenging concept to adapt because there's only so much you can do with a group of nerds to keep an audience entertained. Some jokes and tropes can get old quickly, much like what happened with The Big Bang Theory.

P.s.: shoutout to Evan Dorkin, one of the greatest of independent comic books. I got a tattoo a few years ago of the Eltingville Club and showed it to him and he said I made his day. Great guy.

Director: Chuck Sheetz Written by: Evan Dorkin (written by, comic book, created by) Music by: Denis M. Hannigan Editing: Rob Desales Art Direction: Evan Dorkin and Sarah Dyer Storyboard: Stephen DeStefano.

the verdict is in... It was a good show.

It was a good show because it was funny.

The animation was great and the characters were funny.

This is what The Big Bang Theory should have been. Its too late for success now.

The TV show was based on Evan Dorkin's comic series "Eltingville", but it never made it past the pilot, which premiered on Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" on March 3rd, 2002.
