Last of padmarajan's movie.This is a beautiful fantasy story, filled with magical moments. Many movies were inspired by wim Wender's "Wings of Desire", like City of angels etc.Padmarajan takes a leaf out of Wings of Desire and spins the story around our mythology and legends for this movie.Unlike the other movies where the angels are philosophical and dull, the gandharvan in this movie is a lively character. Padmarajan enriches the scenes of gandharvan with his imagination. When ever he appears there is a feast for your senses. Beautiful visuals, good background music, nice dialogues/songs and the characters talk about how there is a good smell of Palla flower when ever he appears.

Suparna brings out the innocence of her college girl character. Wonder why she did not do many more movies in the south .

The movie totally belongs to Nitish - the main actor Gandharva who has descended on this planet due to some curse . He looks ethereal and glows naturally . He is always having a mysterious smile .

Sulakshana as her mother is very practical . She wears simple cotton sarees to show her role as a professor and a single mother . She agrees to get her married to the man of her choice despite being engaged to her cousin . Soman comes in a small role as her father who keeps visiting his family . He keeps warning her about this stranger .

Ganeshan is her fiance who is hurt and confused at this betrayal . He often tries to corner Nitish for coming close to his own fiancee . He and his cronies get beaten up by him in return . Philomina is likeable as her grand mother who sides with her often and chides her own daughter Sulakshana . Sad to see Nitish fly away in the final scene as its time to go .

Over all a fine engaging movie .

Very Beautiful movie.. And Gandharvs are never fantasy. If you read Hindu scriptures properly you will get to know that they are. Unlike Angels and some fairy tales as the name suggest are not described in ancient scriptures are a fantasy.. Indian culture and hindu culture basically is never a fantasy or mythology they are history with principles still applicable in the present and will be in Future. There are Yashas, kritikaen, apsaraen ,pishach, brahmarakshash etc.. also.. Movie was based on Indian Culture and if you want to innovate bout Indian culture then must watch it.
