Madamu Sado: Mesu jigoku

"Madame De Sade:She Beast in Hell" certainly differs from many pinku eiga flicks I had an opportunity to see.Like my friend EVOL666 mentioned in his review this one shows a male bound and subjected to sexual torture,abuse and domination.The film is very sleazy,albeit the optical censoring of genitalia really got on my nerves sometimes.Still it's not as grim and nihilistic as let's say "Captured for Sex 2" or "Assault!Jack the Ripper".Fans of Japenese exploitation expecting tons of sexual sadism will certainly be disappointed.However the sex is plentiful and there is truly titillating masturbation scene with a table leg.Unfortunately I was bored several times-I think that the film should be shorter.The typical projection time reserved for pinku eiga(66-68 minutes)would be more appropriate.7 out of 10.

A woman gets stood up by the groom on their wedding day but it turns out he was kidnapped by a previous girlfriend who then makes him her sex slave. Several months later he wants to reunite but he finds he now needs to be used as a slave to perform. Plus in the meantime she has moved on to a relationship with his brother.

This is a Nikkatsu Roman X entry. That is supposed to mean this is x-rated and more explicit. Unfortunately, if that's what you're looking for you will be disappointed. The activities are more explicit but onscreen you don't see or even get a hint of anything. There is heavy fogging/mosaic due to Japanese censorship at the time which was not uncommon in any Pink Eiga. Even what you do see does not seem to be any more explicit than other regular Nikkatsu Pink films.

There is nudity and a number of sex scenes. Some of the sex scenes are erotic while others are kind of boring. There are some S&M scenes and these go a little farther tho again not very explicit.

Machiko Wachi and the rest of the cast is very good. Can't blame the cast. The script is just weak. Some things the characters do are difficult to believe. The story also drags at times. The cinematography is the weakest part of the film. Many scenes are dark or in shadow, detracting from the scenes.

The just is the film goes on longer than it should. The story doesn't say enough. The camera work is distracting. This could have been very good with a better director. Instead it is very mediocre and that's being generous.
