Screenwriter
Milos Macourek wanted this miniseries to be directed by his traditional collaborator
Václav Vorlícek. The German co-producer, however, insisted on
Jaroslav Dudek because he thought that the unexpected combination of the screenwriter of
Die Märchenbraut (1980) and the director of
Das Krankenhaus am Rande der Stadt (1977) would bring a guaranteed hit.
