The Cap

Possibly the first time Mr Ironside took his shoes off for the sake of realism. I'm assuming this is an example of the Canadian Method school of acting. I'm curious to know if it's widely used or is it just Mr Ironside's own personal trade mark. To be fair this little film is more than passable, it has many more things to recommend than the previously mentioned feet. The young son who has the cap, reminds me of some one, I just cant think who. The film is a nice little snap shot of fathers and sons missing each others meanings. Although it does have resolution, a nice touch, you are still left feeling that this family will never be healed and whole.

Steve Diamond is a kid that becomes ecstatic when he finds on a bench the baseball cap of his favourite player Andy Dawson. Some days later tho he goes playing and loses the cap but doesn't notice it until he's at home. Once there he stars feeling despaired and his dad (Michael Ironside) arranges a meeting with the dad of the kid that catched the hat when it ended up lost but the other kid doesn't want to give back the hat. Dad buys another baseball hat for his son and after some banter he likes it and then it ends.

When I saw it on February 2024 it had a score of 8,9 and not even a poster, then I realized that isn't that excellent. Part of it is because I would have liked that the dad would have insisted in having back the hat that was of his son but as it ended it was just ok with the kid accepting the new hat tho it wasn't the original. Decent and nothing more (and in the fact the day after I scored it the score lowered a bit).
