The story follows a young man (Bobby Deol) who flees India and arrives in Australia seeking vengence for something that started in India. In Australia he meets and falls in love with the daughter of a rich and powerful man(Suresh Oberoi). The story keeps the covers on Bobby Deols plan until the end when everything is revealed as to why he is a SOLDIER.

Those who know Bobby only coz of ANIMAL(2023) should've seen this long time back !!!!!!

The plot may seem dated. But the buildup was great, as expected from an Abbas-Mastan action film.

Just the previous year, the elder Deol sibling had delivered a patriotic mega-blockbuster in the form of a war epic named BORDER(1997). The younger Deol struck his own form of patriotism in the form of a suspense thriller which left audiences pondering till the last half hour where his allegiances lay. Well, they lay with India, and what better way than clearing the name of your ill fated Army officer father accused of treason.

Just one complaint, they shouldn't have dubbed Preity Zinta's voice.

Explosive Action Thriller!

This is another one of Abbas-Mustan's big budget action packed suspense thrillers casting Bobby Doel and Prity Zinta. This movie is about a young man on a mission to find his father's killers who have become successful businessmen in Australia. This movie will leave you on the edge of your seat as the story takes new turns as it goes on. Mostly filmed on location in Australia and New Zealand, it is beautifully photographed and shows mind blowing scenery. It's really good entertainment overall and I would recommend it to anyone.

Abbas-Mustan after making hit thrillers like KHILADI(92), BAAZIGAR(1993) and then making flops like DARAAR(1997) came with SOLDIER which did well at the Box Office

The plot?

Well reminds us of BAAZIGAR wherein they are wrongs being done on Bobby's father.etc

The main plot is that Bobby is an assassin who is paid to kill people but actually he plans to seek revenge from the main traitors of our society and kills them slowly

The film has a done to death yet quite good plot for 1990's but sadly it lacks the edge of seat thriller impact There is too much focus on comedy(Johny Lever and that long haired goon, Sharat Saxena.etc and also romance between Preity and Bobby) it takes almost half the film on that and then the film shifts to an action genre with thrills in between like the death scenes

There are also scenes lifted from Hollywood like Bobby entering the building of Sharat Saxena and many more The film does keep you involved in parts but the climax is too filmy and too overdone

Direction by Abbas-Mustan though not as good as BAAZIGAR yet a good film Music is good

Bobby Deol changed his image with this film and it suited him sadly he was made to do hammy comic and romance acts in this film too yet he stands out in serious scenes though he looks dull in some emotive scenes Yet a good job, After a dismissal act in GUPT Preity was annoying for her debut and her voice was dubbed by someone else Amongst rest Suresh Oberoi is good, Ashish Vidhyarthi is okay Johny annoys, Sharat Saxena and his son(the usual nonsense actor from AM films) ham it up, Dalip Tahil is adequate Farida and Rakhee are typecast

One Of the Best Action Thrillers as U Know the King of Action and suspense films of the 90s the duo ABBAS Mustan Directed this movie .Whether Its The Acting Of main Lead BOBBY deol..The songs Are still Fresh ,The Cinematography and The role of Each and Every Character is Perfect and Well Suited ,Moreover Its a Hollywood Style Directed Movie and One Of the first films of Every kid of 90s Era..The Best💯

[Camera shifts to Bobby Deol calculating the losses with Saxena screaming on the phone]
Baldev Sinha: Hey are you already dead or what ? Am I crazy speaking to nobody ? Just wait and watch what's in store for you. You'll dare stand in front of me and you'll lose your nerves once and for all.
Vicky: [Responding to Saxena] $ 35000 basic plus 100% tax. That's 70,000 rounded off.
Baldev Sinha: [Furious and confused] What round or square are you talking about ?
Vicky: [Responding to Saxena in a serious tone] That's the damage your son did to my house.
Baldev Sinha: [Mocking Deol] So you'll take money from me ?
Vicky: [In a stern voice] Not just money, it'll be in Australian Dollars. And take this call very seriously. I'll send you the bill at 1400 hrs. Collect the money at 1405 hrs. And leave by 1410. Transaction time would be 10 minutes. You have till then to arrange for the payment.
[Disconnects]
Jojo: Dad what's he saying ?
Baldev Sinha: [Taking Deol as a lightweight] He's gone insane. Says he'll send the bill at 1400 hrs, pickup the cash at 1405 and leave by 1410. Do I look like an idiot who'll budge to his demands ?
[Verma comically nods in agreement only to immediately disagree]
Baldev Sinha: In any case we've business to deal with, the new shipment is coming so are the customers.
