The Cross-Road Gallows

Farmer Dent is furious when he discovers a caravan on his land, as he's about to launch into a tirade, he finds the occupants, newlyweds Mr and Mrs James dead. Superintendent Reynolds is brought in to solve the case, he discovers that a large amount of cash has gone and that Debt had seen a vagrant in the area.

There's a lot of story crammed in to just thirty minutes, it's one of the best of these mini films I've watched so far, it's well paced, intriguing and kind of gritty, perhaps one of the only ones where the killer doesn't have an 'it was me' sign on them.

Everything is well explained, nothing is ambiguous or unfinished, something that seems rare these days.

Arthur Gomez clearly stuck to his brief as the angry farmer, did he perhaps overdo it a little bit at times
